Spoilers General Disco Chat Thread

There's this quote from Rebecca Romijn in a recent interview that maybe...maybe... hints at seeing the Enterprise bridge:

Romijn has been a fan of Star Trek from her early days. “I was a major Trek fan as a child,” she said. “I watched The Original Series with my mom. I lost my mom two years ago, and so being on this set, specifically the set I was on, which I’m not allowed to talk about, made me cry. And it made me think about my mom a lot. It was very emotional.”

I think the resemblance to the TOS bridge might be more than a lot of us thought. Including myself. I'm starting to think: TOS bridge but with richer colors and minus "jolly rancher" buttons and flashing-blinking lights.

It all sounds good. If it looked like the Discovery or Shenzhou bridge, I doubt it would generate that type of reaction from her.

I like S1 specifically because it was different than "Traditional Trek." I've got 750 hours of "Traditional Trek." I'm very, very grateful we got something different.

Liking S2 thus far, but if it turns into a Voyager/Orville hybrid in the process of trying to ape "Traditional Trek," I'll be sick to my stomach.

Voyager's kind of okay. Orville Reddenbocker makes some pretty good popcorn. But you can't just snack on popcorn. So, on that note...

I think Pizza with Mushrooms on it should be the official food of Discovery. We can thank Reno for the suggestion, even though I won't be taking those mushrooms off.

I wonder if Stamets like really likes to eat mushrooms, or can't bring himself to eat mushrooms?

The TOS helm and navigation console has remarkably few controls, if you really look at the prop. They could keep the buttons mostly the same, maybe enlarge it a little and turn the dead space into touch screens in night mode. That's the sort of minimally invasive surgery I'd prefer.

I'm going to add to this slightly. VOY's not my favorite Star Trek series but, as a TOS Fan, one thing I definitely do like about the show is Captain Janeway. She has a take-charge attitude, and can be very nice but also has a take no prisoners streak when someone crosses her. I find that pretty relate-able.

Pizza and Mushrooms? that's for the kiddie's table. A Boldly Goes pizza is like this: Pizza of the Beast. 6 different veggies/fruits (including shrooms I guess), 6 different cheeses, 6 different meats.
