Episode IX Speculation and Discussion

One of the various Star Wars podcasts I listen to - Aggressive Negotiations - recently brought up something that I hadn't thought about, which is looking at the possibility of Episode IX and the Sequel Trilogy mirroring the Dark Knight Trilogy. I don't completely agree with their point-of-view (which is influenced by fairly negative feelings about The Last Jedi), but it's an interesting thing to think about, IMO, and it'll be interesting to see if this is what ends up happening.

That would imply that The Last Jedi would be The Dark Knight......

Yikes

I think that's a pretty bad theory

I'm not sure you understand what I was saying, nor do I think you understand what Matt and John were saying.

With The Dark Knight Trilogy, Christopher Nolan finished the final installment by acknowledging what had happened in the second installment while simultaneously circling back to the first and tying the "first and the last" together as two sides of a whole.

That's what they were talking about, and it's actually a plausible theory given that Abrams has returned to the director's chair to "finish what he started" with the Sequel Trilogy.

That sounds like the PT and OT to me. Hell, every trilogy I've ever watched is like that. That's not a Nolan thing at all.

Any trailer news? Thought it might be shown during the Super Bowl but I imagine we would have hears something by now if that was the case.

Is theforce.net down? All I get when I follow my bookmark is an error message.
