You, uh, may want to see a doctor about that STD. Meanwhile, DSC has plenty of credibility and is a worthy entry in a franchise that never seems to overly concern itself with things like continuity.
I know the discovery novel desperate hours gave it as “Una” but I wonder if “The Enterprise War” will keep that name or if JJM will give us a different one. Or if she’ll just be known as “Number One”.
For the record, the "Una" name dates back to the Legacies trilogy Dave Mack, Dayton Ward, Kevin Dilmore, and I wrote a few years ago for Trek's 50th Anniversary. As I recall, Dave came up with the name, although it first appeared in my novel just because I happened to write Book One of the trilogy. Dave then reused in his DISCO book.
To be fair, they never promised they were going to reveal her name. That was just us, speculating and wondering.
I find it strange they sticking with the throw-away line from The Cage that she's only a Lieutenant. If the XO of the Enterprise is only a Lieutenant, why does it have a full O6 Captain. And what about the other officers on board who outrank her, like Engineer Naan, who is a Commander?
Early on he is identified as a Lieutenant Commander while wearing Commander's stripes. I figure the promotion paperwork just got lost in the galactic mail.
No of course not. I just assumed they couldn't feature her without dropping a name. I also thought she'd be there for more than 5 minutes
She will show up again later this season. Anyways, if the Enterprise rank insignia works the same as the Kelvin Timeline, Number One is a Lieutenant Commander.
There was a character in Stargate Atlantis who for ages didn't have a first name and then later on they mentioned it in an episode. So maybe it'll be like that with her and we'll find out her name later.
