Creating 3D Models

I have created several, non canon ships (see my PAG posts) via 3D software and I am now considering making actual models of them.
Does anyone have any experience with this, suggestions on reputable printers and manufacturers and the potential pitfalls associated with it?

^ You'd probably want to start a thread over in the Fan Art Form for this type of discussion. There are a bunch of really talented 3D artists there and several regular posters that do amazing things with 3D printers. You probably get far more interest, discussion and feedback there.

Perhaps a MOD could shuttle this thread over to Fan Art ?

If @MadMan1701A is still around he would be the best contact as he has done a lot of 3d printing work.

But, I agree with the above poster that Fan Art is the best place to ask.
