I think the concept of Star Trek is broad enough to take a lot of changes. As long as it's about exploring space and the human condition.

EDIT: But the way I'd do it wouldn't be the same as the way other people would do it. Everyone would have their own idea. So they might as well not reboot it if they don't absolutely have to.
