Spoilers The Flash - Season 5

I'm wondering about Dr. Ambres too. Something really bad must have happened to her for her to behave like this seeing how she's a doctor, perhaps by the bus metas or the original metas.

It sounds more like it's cumulative -- she's been treating the victims of meta attacks ever since the accelerator explosion, and has thus come to blame the metas for all the injuries and deaths she's had to face in her work, all the people she couldn't save. And that blame has twisted into hate.

Isn’t that where Supergirl is? So you want to give this power dampening dagger to Supergirl and put her earth in danger?

It only dampens metahuman powers created by dark matter (which is why Killer Frost is immune), so it shouldn't affect alien superpowers.

On that subject, I did find it odd that the Pipeline cell. damped Supergirl's powers in "Elseworlds, Part 3," given that she's not a meta. But I guess Deegan could've modified the cells to work on Supergirl when he rewrote reality. And we saw that they only partially damped her powers even so.

I’m more than over with this Cicada nonsense.

They needed Caitlin to tell them that someone sliced by a knife needs to go to the hospital!?! Or more likely a stupid excuse to take Killer Frost of the board so he could.... sigh.

What other ridiculous contrivances will they come up to continue Cicada?

And another thought, I’m watching it now—once they know WHO the leak is, why didn’t they change the location of the pick up? Oh. Yeah, so they could have a big fight. In other words, sell out the intelligence of the characters so the writers could have their fight scene.

Do. Better. Writers.

Edited to add: WHY FIGHT HIM WITH A KNIFE, KILLER FROST!? Put him in a block of ice.

This might be my last season.

Or enter flashtime and sedate him with an injection. Assuming a speedster could maintain the FT effect long enough before the dagger could block their power.
Or zap 'em with a speedforce lightning blast before getting up close enough to be rendered helpless.
Or throw hot coffee from Jitters in his face.... :D

It's the Flash's world, and we're just living in it...

I don't remember what episode it was, but the one where they got Cicada's dagger in Earth orbit... and then STOOD AROUND wondering what to do next... HOW ABOUT YOU PUNCH HIM, FLASH!?

But, no... because... I guess the contract with Chris Klein... I don't know. At least with the Thinker I could believe he's outsmarting them, but, damn... this is just a mess. It's really discouraging.

I'm still interested in Sherloque's case regarding Nora.

Total agreement, Cicada is a one note character and that one note is not that Interesting!!! Every scene with him is exactly the same. In terms of Chris Klein’s performance but also the fights.

The Thinker was so much more interesting. That was probably drawn out a little longer than needed. But they came up with new angles that moved it along. In terms of the body swaps. But the development of Ralph all year too.

I do not see how they can maintain Cicada much longer. Before the season started they alluded to arcs that start and finish while the main one goes on in the background. Presumably that is Nora and Thawne. Which I agree is interesting. No reason Cicada can not me defeated anytime now. I assuming Caitlin’s father The Icicle will return too.

Which is why I'm coming to think he's a red herring and Dr. Ambres is the real big bad.

By big bad do you think she's someone else other than a doctor just motivated by hate of meta-humans? Because, yeah, sure, she's directing Cicada, pushing him, but, that's been clear for awhile. He doing for her what she can't do for herself. For me, that's all it is. And I'm not expecting them to pull off her mask and reveal she's someone more interesting than she is now.

If she's someone ELSE, I would've liked a hint. Or, at the very least, something to suggest their relationship isn't exactly what we have been seeing. Because, right now, I'm not the least bit interested in them. Their relationship is thin dramatically.

Glad im not the only one getting bored here watching the Flash. Cicada isn't that interesting and the actor just doesn't do it for me. I really wanted Flash to kill him. Arrow would of, Sam an Dean would of, everyone on Titans would of. But Flash lets him go to kill more people.

I don't need nor want every hero to come up with the same conclusion: just kill the bad guy.
At what point are THEY actually the bad guy?

They try and soften Arrow.... he never seems to kill the MAIN bad guy, but, a lot of thugs have died along the way. He's a terror. He should be stopped.

The Flash... I like that he tries to do the right thing. The only problem is, the writers need to stretch out a story so they have the Flash and Friends fail for ridiculous reasons. And that just makes Team Flash look dumb.

Or they could just get Cicada alone in a big space (so Barry doesn't have to get close enough for the dagger to drain him) and zoom about creating a vacuum until Cicada's lungs collapse.

There's a ziliion ways, logically, Barry could crush even Superman, but the show has to maintain SOME drama.

Because it's The Flash?

So? I can't imagine this conversation:

Sherloque: Eh Cisco--why don't you just vibe the dagger to Earth 38?
Caitlin: Yeah. That could work. We could all then face down Cicada with our powers, and Kara can destroy the dagger.
Cisco: I can totally do that.

Flash: HEY! This is Team FLASH! I have to be the ultimate hero who takes down Cicada, and we have to wait until May. I like May. I'm the Flash, and I want to drag this out.

Everyone: Good point Barry.

Isn’t that where Supergirl is? So you want to give this power dampening dagger to Supergirl and put her earth in danger?

No one that we know on Earth 38 got their powers through dark matter. Supergirl and J'onn wouldn't be affected by the dagger at all. I can't think of one meta on Earth 38 that would struggle with that dagger. One blast of heat vision and goodbye dagger. Hell, Kara could just send it to the Phantom Zone.

Agreed. It's just when they choose to maintain that drama by having the characters act stupidly for the sake of maintaining that drama.

If there was some motivation that was transparent that made them act stupidly or wrong, I wouldn't mind. Like when in Infinity War, Star Lord gets all stupid and angry at Thanos and fucks up the plan to remove the glove... I get it and it doesn't bother me. He's emotional about Gamora, and he acts out.

When Team Flash stands around while the dagger is in Earth orbit and one of the Team can move fast enough to jump through time, I don't get it. And it makes me frustrated.
