I'm only a minute in and I appreciate the references to some of the old FASA work (where the Four Year's War originated) like the shot of the Chandley class in the credits.

Okay, I like some of the FX shots. I appreciate how they were trying to take advantage of the three-dimensionality of space instead of treating the ships like boats on a lake. But it kills me how the Axacultists will inevitably say that THIS is the the REAL Star Trek that "the fans" want. Because it features space battles with Klingons, unlike the first season of Discovery which featured *checks notes* space battles with Klingons.

Back in what, 2014-15? he started building out a studio, making sets, which - for the most part - were about 60-75% complete. Then he filmed a greenscreen walkie talkie scene instead of using his completed sets; ran out of money, moved across the country, rebuilt his bridge, and now is doing the whole movie greenscreen?
Had he used the 1.5 mil to rent a soundstage, built a couple of real sets, a couple of partial green screen sets and hired actors at "fan film rates", he could have had a finished film. If he'd used the 1.5 mil to fly everyone into Atlanta or Ticonderoga instead of building his own sets, he could have made 2 films. I don't recall what the budgets per episode were for NV or STC, but if he'd been willing to let them lead the production side with Gossett directing, Axanar would have had at least four films made.

According to Lane Axanar momentum is doing great. Now they just need $150k-200k (plus the $4k/month) and all will be good... and since Alec can't talk about crowdfunding Lane is going to take over that job for him. Must be nice having your own propoganda blog that you can use to "not talk about crownfunding" with

Spoiler alert: the reason they haven’t made Axanar yet is because Alec needs to ask for more money. A twist surely no one saw coming.

And of course it features a nice talking down to over the logistics of filming stuff.
Yo! Shout out to carlosp for officially calling it!

In the meantime, OMG the mother-effer's asking for another six figures. The stones! Even Bernie Madoff didn't constantly ask for money without giving something to some investors. That's how a ponzi scheme works. Alec can't even get that right!

six figured in addition to what he wants to cover the rent on his man-cave. So give.. and give more.. and give more..... and you won't get a film

Spoiler: Here's why Axanar hasn't been made yet. Peters is waiting on Ares Digital 3.0 to be completed. Since he has no crowdfunding platform he's legally allowed to use, such as Indiegogo or Kickstarter, he has to have a private platform. So Ares Digital, which was originally designed to import fulfillment information from the crowdfunding platforms, now has to both manage the transactions collecting money from donors as well as facilitate delivering perks to existing donors.

This is according to Peters last night on Axanar Confidential. He can't raise money until Ares Digital is complete, and it's only about 75% complete (or so he says).

Hint: if your entire fan-film project is dependent on a money-raising platform... you're doing it wrong.

Well, the rest of us would be.

$150-200,000 to make the 30 min Axanar film.
$4,000 a month to pay the studio rent, so $48,000 a year.

Two amounts to be raised even though previously $1.5 million raised. Plus Prelude cost $100,000. I know I should be immune at this point but nearly $1.8 million to produce a fan film still staggers me. And not a lot to show for it...

Ugh, the amount he wants now is appalling. If other fan films can only be made for $50,000 for 2 parts then he should be held to the same standard. Sorry LFIM you've already wasted the money I already gave you. You're not getting anymore from me. I hope he doesn't get the amount he wants.

"Axanar Confidential" came up in my recommended videos. I didn't watch, figuring it was not worth 2 hours. What can he say that he hasn't already said?

Every time I'm away from this thread, I keep hoping Alec will have finally announced he's done and will be moving on, and instead he's either put his foot in his mouth again, or he's asking for money again.
