Why do certain people think that Discovery is gonna get cancelled when they're already announcing spin offs and we have the Picard show?
I'm surprised that there appears to be people rooting for the Orville or discovery to fail. Either one failing is not good news for the space genre. They are so different I find it easy to like both.
I'm glad the sub number is up. Nerdrotic says that the numbers take into account the AFC championship game. I didn't get a chance to hear the explanation he gave and he despises discovery so I take it with a grain of salt. I would like to believe the increased numbers are true. CBS all access has been doing a lot of advertising it would seem. I see it alot online.

"The return of our biggest original series hit, STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, and this weekend's AFC Championship Game have propelled CBS ALL ACCESS to new record-breaking heights," said Marc DeBevoise, President and Chief Operating Officer, CBS Interactive.

Yeah, I mentioned that the increased subs were attributed to both Discovery and the AFC game in the first post. No way to know how much was from each. But considering the press release was worded with Discovery first and then the AFC game, I would think a larger portion of the subs they consider being due to Discovery:
CBS said that Discovery--and just Discovery--led to record sign-ups last year.

Nerdrotic...ugh! Best to ignore.

Yeah, it makes sense that it was just Discovery last year since they didn't have anything else of note that particular day/week that could have contributed to the subscriptions.

No. But it was football season. Was the AFC championship game or any other event or note the same week?
No. But it was football season.
They think that Discovery is such a failure, that the other shows will replace it.
Not the same, but I wouldn’t underestimate the lure of even regular season football in many US markets. However, I don’t think football, in either case, was the main driver as it is available on regular TV.Not sure how that is revelant. A regular NFL game vs a conference championship games are not the same thing at all and this year CBS was actively advertising online that you could watch the AFCC on CBSAA.

So if regular season football and DSC season 1 was the draw last year and this year DSC season 2 and football was the draw and subs were up 73% that is good for DSC. But don't tell doomcock.
Even if it won Best Dramatic Television from the Emmys I’m sure a loud group would claim it’s all a SJW conspiracy conducted by Kathleen Kennedy and George Soros.
I'm not sure they do. Doomcock, Midnight's Edge and the rest cater to the Angry Fanboy. They make monetized videos saying what the Angry Fanboy wants to hear, that the shows they hate are failing. I doubt they truly believe it themselves, they're just making money off of fools. Like Alex Peters is still trying to do years after losing all credibility. Why do certain people think that Discovery is gonna get cancelled when they're already announcing spin offs and we have the Picard show?
Wait, I'm only here because George Soros pays me.Even if it won Best Dramatic Television from the Emmys I’m sure a loud group would claim it’s all a SJW conspiracy conducted by Kathleen Kennedy and George Soros.
