Record Weekend for Subscriptions for CBS All Access

First, I know they're aren't any actual subscriber numbers so it's hard to know exactly what it means, but it's still a very positive story for CAA. What this does go to show is that people will pay for Star Trek and it's not a bad business decision to try to have new Star Trek content on as much as possible. Second, some of this is due to football, but no data on how much.

According to CBS Interactive, CBS All Access added more subscribers in a single weekend than ever before, breaking the previous record set during the 2017 series premiere of Star Trek: Discovery by +72%. In addition, this weekend also set a new record for unique viewers on CBS All Access.

What does this have to do with All-Access subscriptions? The Orville is still a better show, and Peters is still a thief and liar.
Except going by the Oriville's current ratings slide (viewership lower than the lowest point of the first season) I guess more people seem to have lost interest (or don't find the current season as entertaining as the first)/had their fill of TNG-like nostalgia.

Which is fine. Still doesn't have anything to do with CBS All-Access subscriptions. It is funny that most of the time The Orville is brought up, it is by Discovery fans, then they complain it is being brought up.

I don't think that's objectively true. I watch both shows and follow both on social media. There are definitely more people who post about Orville on Discovery posts than vice versa.

But anyway, I don't want this to turn into another fighting thread.

I haven't looked objectively. I will say from what I've seen of the facebook and youtube haters bringing up Orville as some godsend for the True Fans (and these folks are not-ironically often alt-right brah types.. again, not speaking of this forum, which does tend to have a much better degree of dialogue and seems to be moderated in such a way it attracts a higher quality poster) ..where was I, I digress..

it's actually turned me off watching the show.

Um, you're the person who directly brought up 'The Orville' here - and so far, you're the only person complaining about anything WRT this thread.

This is true. You see this often on twitter too. In the #StarTrekDiscovery or #StarTrek hashtags you'll have people use those tags just to, unprompted, talking about how Orville is true trek or fills there need. There is no reason at all to tag Discovery in those tweets but some do it anyway because they want the attention. When the new episode of Discovery came out you were going down the timeline you see people talking about the episode and then out of nowhere is a Orville tweet simply bashing Discovery in favor of Orville.
