Has anyone looked into the actual cost of the space AP occupies? It can't be hard to find out what the rent is on that warehouse. From there one could extrapolate the electric bill, and stuff like that.

Surely it doesn't cost $4K/mo for that dump. ;)

That is actually market rate for that space, maybe even a little under. See my latest article: "Planning for the Worst in Patreon Effort to Save Axanar's Home: Patreon Boycott Endangers Campaign, Ares Warehouse Already Advertised For Lease."

Good grief. It shouldn’t really be a surprise at this point but once again Alec talks a good game while not really understanding how things work and already working on his exit strategy.

Sounds to me like this is a virtual repeat of the Indiegogo. Setup with the pretense of saving the studio I can only assume this money will end facilitating the move to the new premises.

I wonder how much floor space that bridge set actually takes up. If he moves will it fit in the new space or will it end up disassembled like the other sets? And if he goes through another move will he keep those still unassembled spaces or will they end up junked like the transporter room?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I may not have gotten a movie for my money but I have gotten a fair amount of entertainment...

@carlosp dropping the bombshells. "Studio" already on the market for rent......Patreon is another bait and switch if they don't reach $4000 per month.....AND a built in excuse blaming "haterz" and lack of funding........why do I see the sets being moved into a barn somewhere in rural Georgia next? BIG WIN FOR AXANAR!

He's had a year in the new "studio" and high school kids have filmed more then he has and yet he wants people to pay monthly for... what? If he was making movies or something I could see a patreon but what exactly are you paying..every..month for?

Well maybe LFIM would have more money if hadn't spent his money putting on a con that hardly anyone showed up for to spend money which made him lose money and now he's running out of money again, and is getting hardly any money from Patreon because some of us refuse to give him any more money because the didn't spend the money we already gave him wisely on a warehouse in California that he had to leave because he ran out of money.

(I could keep this going all day, and now he may lose the warehouse in Georgia as well. History is repeating itself.)

But if you join his patreon you'll get to see all 22 hours of axacon..... one hour a month. what a deal.

if he had spent the over one year he has had the studio in georgia and FILMED TWO 15 MINUTE EPISODES! If he had product he had created at ares studios it would be easier to get people to pay.

He has now had his own studio going on 3 years now and filmed nothing but a 5 minute walk and talk and videos of opening patch boxes and wants money to keep the studio.

Yup, he put on a 'Con' alright ;) and still trying to con everyone.

I'm thinking someone at OWC Finally did some due diligence on Alec and they pulled out, or he was not doing anything fast enough to fully utilize the studio they were paying for.

Speaking of due diligence, I'm sure many of his Patreon supporters do not know the full story, if they had, they would not be donating. Pictures of the bridge set, the Vulcan Scene and Prelude are his only selling tools. It still fools some people, but those returns are diminishing.

I don't understand Alec's obsession with having his own studio. Just rent a place to shoot the film on and be done with it. that's what we always did, and it works.

They will now shoot Axanar with puppets in old basement somewhere, soon.

Question, is Alec beholden to CBS, via the settlement, to put out an Axanar film (based on CBS's guidelines of course)? Normally CBS could care less about a fan film, but thy may require him to do it, so the fans he took money from get something.

Jespah, what is the pie of the day? I'm hungry. :)

When it was going to be in the L.A. area, the idea for him was "It'll make me money..." (And for Robert Meyer Burnett it was - "I'll have 'for free' access to a workable studio to do paying projects IN L.A." <-----Which is why he bailed as soon as it was moved to Atlanta.)

That said, many Hollywood productions still do work in Georgia, so Alec might still believe if he can get something up and running he can still make money from it.

[Hell, he already got $2 million in 'free' money that he was able to blow on Rent, defending the lawsuit, and on stuff for himself and RMB. Most GOOD starting businesses (IE with a solid business plan) can't even get a credit line on that level.]
