The writing staff is going to want to do their own thing and I doubt they'll be Memory Betaing Picard's life. If he is married to Beverly with a son named Rene, I will be shocked.
There's a slight possibility of that, if they wanted to explore Picard from a different angle than he's been looked at in the past. Rene would be a teenager by that point, opening up some story possibilities (if handled right). He and Beverly may not be married by that point either. Or they could be and she is off on some mission somewhere (not unheard of in Star Trek). Or something could have happened to them during the destruction of Romulus.
I'm not expecting that. Only that I wouldn't rule it out either. It all depends on what route and what background do they want Picard to have. Kurtzman did indicate that they are looking at some 'non-canon' information. That indicates it's at least possible they decide to incorporate some element(s) of the litverse into the new show.
It'd be nice if after almost 2 decades of continuing novels they decide to canonize some small part of it in some fashion.
Now what would shock me is if they take all of it and build off of it using all the litverse. Would I love that, sure, that would mean the existing relaunches can continue as is. But that would be a shocker.
But taking some element and building off that, sure. It seems they are at least open to the idea if it fits their vision for the show and they like it. Or it could be the end of the Borg if they decide they don't want to do any Borg episodes anymore. Or maybe just a character they like from the books they decide to incorporate in the show.
