Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

One more...

Next month is the time of the year where we give our mates the gonads of a Rosa species

Why do advertised places always look much bigger in the picture than they do in reality? Or sometimes the place looks nice but what you don't know is that there is something ugly looking right or left of the picture!!

Has this ever happened to anyone? Last night one of my dreams involved spiders. When I woke up, I saw a spider hanging/floating in front of me. I was groggy and my vision was poor, but still knew it wasn't real. Yet I continued to see it. Then I went back to sleep. This wasn't the first time it's happened to me either. I believe last time it was also spiders.

Are you sure you were awake when you saw the spider? I often have the dream when I wake up and I am still dreaming, Usually, it's in response to either the alarm going off or being about to. It's as if my unconscious was telling me:" You're already up so no need to wake up for that alarm..." I have a lazy unconscious! :guffaw:

I always told myself not to trust real estate ads if they only show the house from the outside and nothing from the inside.

Also, especially if the realtor agent takes pictures from weird angles. I'd run.

Jingles for phone numbers. They stick in your head forever. I didn’t need an emergency plumber in December 1985, but if I did, I could have rung YTVs Christmas line on Leeds double four eight one nine nine.

I also never called the BBC, but I know their number, to speak to a presenter live on air, was 081 811 8181. Long time ago.

And the new emergency services number, 0118 999 88199 0119 725 3. Much more memorable than 999, 112 or 911.

When I was a kid I learned a mnemonic trick (it's a little poem actually) to remember PI to 30 decimal places but it's been so long that I haven't thought of that (decades) that I don't even remember the poem.:rommie:

"Four! I mean, FOUR! I mean, FIRE!"

When you need to wake up early in the morning for some important task and get insomniac for no reason, the more time passes, the more nervous you get and the less likely you are to fall asleep! Except about five minutes before the alarm goes off!!! It's as if your body decided to play a prank on your mind!!

The only time I ever can't get to sleep (And am not on vacation with a snorer) is when I have to wake up early in the morning for a race.

Seriously, I had a three hour drive for a race in September, I couldn't sleep at all that night. In retrospect I just shouldn't have tried to drive there in that condition, because it was the most terrifying drive I've ever made.

Sometimes I fall asleep listening to music or watching TV and the thing I'm watching manifests in the dream. Like I'm listening to a song in the dream, it's playing from a speaker or something, then I wake up and the song is actually playing in real life. Or fall asleep during the Mythbusters series finale and dream that I'm part of the crew of the show in the finale.

I always have to have music playing when I'm trying to get to sleep.

And not just any music, it has to be a specific kind. To wit, THIS kind:

Also, if it's raining, I have to go downstairs and sleep on the couch, because the rain hits my bedroom window VERY loudly (it sounds like hammers  ) and keeps me awake.

Love love love this kind of music.

That's almost a holodeck experience!:)

Had a dream last night that made no sense whatsoever. Was set in the world of The Walking Dead, although I only recognized Negan. It was about a bunch of people trying to rebuild the world amid the zombie apocalypse, and apparently they thought the first step to doing so would be restocking and reopening... a sporting goods store.
