Books with the Talosians

The big one is Burning Dreams by Margaret Wander Bonanno, which tells Christopher Pike's life story both before and after "The Menagerie" (though not in linear order). Most of their return appearances I can think of are in the comics, like DC Volume 1's second annual (a version of the end of the 5-year mission), Vol. 2's "Door in the Cage" (a movie-era Pike-on-Talos story), or Marvel's "Telepathy War" miniseries.
Margaret Wander Bonanno’s Burning Dreams (Pike’s biography, basically) features the Talosians quite prominently, and gives a ton of new information on their culture and history. And a couple of comic book tales over the years (Marvel’s Telepathy War miniseries, plus a couple of issues from DC Comics’ first and second TOS runs) also dealt with the Talosians, too.

Michael Jan Friedman's Legacy has some scenes of Christopher Pike and Vina on Talos IV post-"The Menagerie," but I don't recall if the Talosians themselves appeared in it. I imagine they must have.

Very briefly. It's a pretty good book, but the scenes with Pike and Vina on Talos are superfluous, imo.
The Greater Good is a Mirror Universe short story about a post Talos Pike. I can't remember if any Talosians actually appear in the story, but they are involved.
It’s phenomenal. Think you’ll greatly enjoy it.

I think “Where Sea Meets Sky” by Jerry Oltion from the “Captain’s Table” series might feature some Talosians, as the story is first-person from Pike’s perspective. It’s been over 10 years since I last read it, so I don’t recall whether Pike has any nightmares about the Talosians or not.
IIRC, that one takes place before the events of The Cage from Pike's perspective. So no Talosian nightmares at that point.
The main part maybe, but as I recall the actual bar scenes feature Fleet Captain Pike.

The short story "A Private Anecdote" from the first Strange New Worlds anthology is a must-read for anyone interested in Pike, imo.
Good thing, because an entire story narrated with just "beep beep beep" could get kind of monotonous.
Burning Dreams reminds me a lot of Ray Bradbury's work.
Yeah, it was before his accident, but (and I’ll have to get the book out) the Talosians could’ve appeared via Memory. And I’m the first person, Pike would be describing his memories.
I quite liked it. I thought the author did a good job capturing Pike's personality in a believable fashion. Recommended!
Margaret Wander Bonanno did a great job of extrapolating bits of Pike's life from the glimpses that "The Cage" showed us.
I especially liked how she worked his love of horses into the narrative in a meaningful way.
