When will Alec say than instead of filming Axanar , they will turn it into a series of comic books? Because that is so much better! LOL :)
I wouldn't put it past them, they already had that one Axanar comic they posted to Lane's blog.

The thing with that comic, though, is that it's not Axanar. It's a side battle. It's literally fanfiction based on material that doesn't exist yet. Unfinished fan fiction. It's unfinished because the writer is doing it piecemeal, whenever he can pay the artist out of his own pocket. That means money would be required if Alec ever decided to hand them Axanar as a comic project. He'll have to fund it. It will just be the same thing all over. It wouldn't actually cost anywhere as much as a film, but a good fan film shouldn't have required a million and change, so...

"People say Axanar tried to make money of Star Trek IP. Bullshit. As Johnathan Lane... ...always says if Alec was trying to scam people then Alec would have ended up with more money after Axanar rather then less money. People say to me 'you tried to make money off Axanar', bullshit. I can say that, this is my YouTube show. Bullshit. We tried to make Star Trek." - Alec time index 35:00 to 35:41 :guffaw:

Alec also recommends the following YouTube channels to his viewers - Egotastic Funtime, and Midnights Edge. :ack:

I am sure that everyone here will be willing to support him on Patreon and with supper chats. :barf:

I love the continuing argument that just because he was really bad at managing money means he didn’t personally profit off anything. I’m sure we’d all love our own free clubhouse for a couple of years.

Also it’s a failing argument when he’s still left with tangible assets he’s using to fundraise.

Does the new studio even have space to setup the additional sets? I assumed it didn’t. And I’d have thought Patreon should have rules against the way he’s using images and video from an entirely different studio to fundraise this one.

If this isn’t poking the bear I don’t know what is. I imagine his main protection against another CBS lawsuit at this point is they know he’s going to be fairly unsuccessful compared to the original fundraisers.

Just reading through the past 10 pages really makes me wish I would keep up on this as much as I used to (back during the lawsuit when I thought I'd get sued too). At this point, I believe it's just a matter of time before CBS pulls a true 'Red Forman' and shoves its foot up his a*s again.

All this internecine BS about hacking, LFIM suing RMB and so forth, it's all continued theater designed to distract and occupy the attention of the remaining Axanar faithful. At this point, I would hope those with any functioning brain cells would wake up and realize the movie isn't coming out, nor are any little 15min BS clips. It's all one big con, plain and simple.

Now he's making a Trek news show? Talk about unnecessary. By the time he gets around to doing it on Fridays, I've already read all the Trek news that's available from other sources. I won't be watching. He's demonstrating time and time again that he has no interest in making the other two parts, he just keeps saying that he's going to do it.

I watched the Patreon video. Now he wants $4000 every month for the studio in Georgia. I couldn't help but think of "for just a few cents a day you too can help . . ." Sorry not getting anymore money out of me. He couldn't manage the money that was already given to him. How long before he loses this studio too?

On AxaMonitor: We're fact-checking the claims made in Alec Peters' new Patreon pitch hoping to raise $4,000/month to keep his Georgia warehouse after losing Other Worlds Computing's corporate sponsorship. We heard this song before when he tried to use crowdfunding to save his doomed California studio. Read more »
And he's gotten a big $365/month of the $4k he wants (thanks for the link @carlosp - https://www.patreon.com/user?u=16067837).

$365/month would, maybe, cover my cable + phone bill. It's not enough to make, well, anything but payments to Comcast with.

Where's the movie, Alec?

I can't believe you sat thru a hour and thirteen minutes of that.
I deserve a medal. :p
Actually I skipped through most of it clicking ahead every couple of minutes as it was making me nauseous.

Don't forget all the supper chats that he gets from people watching the live stream.

I'm pretty sire they annouced their 2 15-minute episode scripts were written ages ago.

They've somehow managed to lose all their VFX assets and brought in someone who comes across like a volatile teenager to replace Tobias Richter. I can't wait for his and Alex's first difference of opinion:lol:

I thought that Tobias Richter was still involved at least according to the Trekzone/Fan Film Factor interview series. Has that changed in the weeks since? If so, where was that posted? I haven't kept up with all seemingly daily hours of RMB streaming so it's possible I missed something big since New Year's.

4... THOUSAND... a MONTH? Holy shit. That's a fuck ton of money for.... what? Who in their right mind is going to donate ANYTHING after what has happened for the past few years?

For the love of all that is holy, just STOP already, Alec. Just... STOP.

Edited to add: 51 donors for less than 450 dollars a month... and he wants to raise 10x that...

Tobias' work was essentially done. Enough of it was completed for the Axanar feature that could be used for the two shorts. Unfortunately, as Rob Burnett revealed a couple weeks ago, Alec Peters has somehow lost the footage produced by Tobias.

Also, the rather coarse new guy they brought aboard isn't doing VFX, as far as I know. He's supposed to be editing together … something. Maybe the shorts (they supposedly had Mark Edward Lewis for that), maybe something else. Not sure.

Y'know... In spite of my relative silence, I've been lurking around here the whole time. I've tried to mostly keep up with this, as I find I want to know the ending (if there ever is one -- and no, I don't mean "will he make the film?", as I very much doubt that will ever happen). I've heard it called OWC studios a million times.

And yet, somehow, until I read the article Carlos just posted, I completely and utterly missed that OWC is not just a random acronym, but a name based on an actual sponsorship by Other World Computing, which to me is a very recognizable name associated with part of my industry.

I'm somehow not surprised by how long that didn't last.

I also find myself very disappointed in OWC for not doing their homework on Alec Peters before going there.

I wonder if anyone got in trouble for getting them involved? Not good for the corporate reputation...

As for missing it? Maybe I'm just getting so desensitized that much of it is flying right over my head these days...
