Just looked it up. Yeah, after my time.
Injustice: Gods Among Us.
One of my favorite comic series. Very interesting take, but it isn't for the faint of heart.I had to ask...

There's some of that projection again. Not at all. You're still projecting your gender politics onto this thread unnecessarily. No one even brought up gender in this discussion until your little rant. Sounds like you're the one with the axe to grind.
There's some of that projection again.
According to you, the man who claimed Superman was emasculated. Do you honestly think anyone actually believes anything you say?Again, you're the one desperately bringing up gender politics, for no good reason.
It's not relevant to the discussion.

No, the word gender was not brought up. You just happen to hate female characters who are capable and only want male characters who are capable for some mysterious reason. It has nothing to do with gender. What a mystery.Never made that claim. Go back and check. Gender wasn't even brought up until your little rant.
I appreciated the game very much, but I thought Injustice did a great job of intertwining many different facts of DC's universe. The game was much better.

Whenever you say I've praised female cast prior, it just sounds like "some of my best friends are black"...just saying.
Whatever you say. That's your own personal conspiracy theory. This is where your projecting comes into play.
I've discussed the positives and negatives of both male and female characters before. Female characters can be great. I'm certain I've praised the female cast of Black Panther on this board several times, for example.
Amusingly, Burnham being Black is actually the one positive I like about the character.
Despite being a complete bore of a character, at least on a surface level she's doing good for African-American representation.
I don’t even consider this a debate worth having. This Mary Sue shit is sexist garbage and nothing else. Any competent female character gets labeled it, it is utterly meaningless as a term now. There can’t even be a worthwhile debate over it because so many who argue for it are doing so in bad faith.
Her acting and range is fine.SMG's mediocre acting and limited range
I find her compelling. Must be a personal problem since outside of this echo chamber she’s fairly popular.I think when you create characters you don't necessarily know which ones are going to develop into the most interesting. Designating Michael as the lead character is risky if she doesn't become compelling. Right now it doesn't look too good.
It's like having having Tom Paris or Geordi LaForge as your main characters. Yuck.
Poor writing, as well as SMG's mediocre acting and limited range haven't helped matters either.
Obviously there's been many competent female characters through out history that weren't called Mary Sues.
There are apparently two different versions of season 1 that are getting streamed. I've seen the one where Discovery took a lot of risks, made great casting decisions and delivered compelling scripts.I think when you create characters you don't necessarily know which ones are going to develop into the most interesting.
