Looks about what I would expect based on previous pics I've seen of it. To what "structural integrity issues" are you referring? Loose parts?

yeah.. one nacelle is crooked, the deflector is crooked, and the place where the metallic and plastic components meet is so loose it makes an odd squeak every time i pick up. honestly feels like it's going to fall apart on my desk.
late but, my discovery enterprise came last week. has some structural integrity issues, so eaglemoss is sending me anew one that hopefully isn't worse:
damage aside, i'm finding this model a little disappointing. i thought having the model would increase my appreciation for the ship, but it has actually reduced it. it's just not an exciting design. i find myself admiring the USS clarke more than the enterprise.
same. i was pleasantly surprised to see this one is not a special after all. i haven't bought a regular sized model in over a year now, but i'll definitely be picking one of these up.

But yeah... This design really doesn't "feel" like an official, professional design - IMO it really looks a lot like one of the thousands of fan-renderings on the internet, where people just mesh different design elements from existing ships together, in this case having a NX-01-overhaul of the TOS connie.
(Really, especially the textures, but also the angled warp nacelles remind me much, much more of the NX-01, than being inspired by the TMP-Enterprise).
i mean that was the point according to eaves, but i think it's a flawed approach. star trek: discovery has a distinct design language at play with its ships. the redesign of the enterprise should've reflected that. but that's an old argument. i just expected the model to enhance my appreciation for the ship, which the generally do. but not in this case, sadly.
I've liked the overall design since it appeared at the end of the Season.
Only thing I don't like is angled Pylons, why the show's VFX team deviated from Eaves design there, I don't know, but it was a big mistake.

I've never seen any fan designs like this before.
^^^ I agree with you on the angled pylon front (and that’s speaking as someone who absolutely loves swept-back angled pylons!): they don’t make any immediate sense in the context of the show’s timeframe (per-TOS). I’m still thinking this Discoprise May end up being refitted back to having straight pylons (as per the promo display pic, discussed in another thread).
In my headcanon, swept-back, angled pylons as a design signature have always suggested both speed, and being technologically more advanced than non-angled pylons (at least from the POV of the Refit TMP 1701 vs the TOS 1701).

The angled movie-era pylons are about the only thing about the design I like. Otherwise it's... so generic. And it's original features (the front window arrangement) not only clash with TOS which it sort-of halfheartedly wants to fit in with, but draws direct attention to how silly it is to have a window on the bridge.
I sent an email to my local store today, asking if he'd got in anything new this week and he confirmed that he'd gotten the Lantree and Vadwaar ship. Within an hour, I was on my way over there.
I now have all four of the Miranda variants that have been released. (It'll be a few more months before the fifth and presumably final one, the Antares, arrives). Besides, the obvious differences, it's interesting to look at some of the more subtle variations. The Bozeman and the Lantree have a red border around both the registry number and the twin exposed "machinery" sections at the back the saucer. The Reliant and Saratoga don't. (Those twin sections are also painted darker on the Lantree than any of the other three). The Lantree's nacelles are longer than the Reliant's, but shorter than either the Saratoga's or the Bozeman's. The Lantree's nacelles are also transparent (like the Reliant) but with a darker plastic.
The shelf I keep my ships on is almost entirely full (it's the second time my collection's outgrown its home) so I may need to look into finding somewhere else to put them in the coming weeks or months. (I would really like a glass case with a door to help keep out dust but if I could afford such things, I'd have a lot more ships).

FINALLY!!!!! This has been #1 on my wishlist forever.
The fins on the back should be angled outward more, though.

I've seen some other reviews saying the same thing structural wise, that it's pretty much falling apart (or, in some cases, has fallen apart). Spunds like a manufacturing issue.
I really like the Discoprise except for the weird cut outs on the pylons. Imo it's a much better update than the kelvinverse ship.

according to the trek collective, the next discovery ship after the qoj-class is the USS shran and i'm here for it.

Picked up #142 the Promellian Battle Cruiser today. It was gonna be another skip originally, but passing my local newsagents earlier I thought it did look kinda nice, and also I felt a bit sorry for them as I don't think they've sold a copy since I got my last issue- #133 back in September haha.
But yeah it is a nice one actually, great weathering on it and mostly metal too so doesn't seem flimsy at all. Need to dig out my regular sized Enterprise-D now and put them facing one another

That ship reminds me of the old-school Cylon Raider.
