For Alec, the CBS lawsuit was a blessing for him. It allowed him to blame CBS for all the money being used up. If there were no lawsuit and still no film, he would have nothing to hide behind and would have had to deal with a massive class action lawsuit that would not have settled.

I think will get some type of short production called Axanar, so Alec can (in his mind anyways) close the book on Axanar. I'm sure the ensuing production will very cheap and horrible, and Alec will call it the best thing since sliced bread. lol

Very much so, and RMB in his latest interview alluded to the fact that Alec loved the lawsuit because it made him the center of attention.

How many of you think that Alec will still be trying to get money from fans a couple years from now? Forget the Axa-Marines, here comes the Axa-Beggars! Coming to street corner near you!!

You could see that in action the way Peters "snuck" into the LA Beyond preview event and then later the Comic Con premier.

Begging for donations is misery money.
If you had a studio set up, unused connections to talent, both in front of and behind the camera. You just got did a major crash and burn, there is no way I'm walking back into that trap again.
(excuse anything political for a second)
The President called for a new branch of the military called Space Force.
I'm going to lock myself in a room for a week and rought out 8-10 episodes of Space Force.
Our heroes are going to save the earth from a rouge steroid, solar flare, cyber war, doomsday device and an alien invasion. We are going to discover Earth friendly energy, how to solve nuclear meltdowns, clean up environment and save a satellite from destroying the worlds banking system.
Then I'm going to the Government and ask for money to continue promoting this call for a new branch. I want direction on goals, technology and equipment, also to knock some heads for easy network access at competitive market rates.

And then the government will sue, because you created your Space Force fan film just as they were returning the US Space Command to independent status, thus re-establishing the Space Force IP they already owned.

Wasn't there already a Space Force IP? I think those terms are too generic.

I was just putting the scenario in terms of the Axanar/CBSP/Discovery debate. It was a joke. I don't actually care if there was already another Space Force ID, but feel free to research it if you'd like.

I just recall seeing a toy line recently featuring that title. I found it amusing.

Off topic, but watching him direct sci-fi had to be one of the strangest moments of 2018 for me..........

Yo, Ishmael, isn't it about time for Moby Dick to cough up the fan film he keeps promising or all the money he swallowed based on that promise?

Good God, does everything this guy touches turn to shit? Seriously, aside from the first Prelude effort, nothing AP has done before or since has been successful. He really needs to consider a career change, perhaps in the fast food industry or as a WalMart greeter, maybe. Someplace he can do little damage in other people's lives that would inevitably result in a 5-6-figure punitive litigation.
