This is one of the best movies I've ever seen. The voice cast was great. The animation and comic book feel, along with Comics Code approval, was excellent. I nearly lost it during the Stan lee cameo... as well as the Uncle death and one of the Pops speeches.. Jesus H Christ, this is too much for older peeps who can't keep their emotions in check. I didn't know about the after credits and split... which really pisses me off since I'm a huge 2099 fan. The Alchemax thing completely skipped my mind. I'll go back for a second screening.

This was such a great movie but the thing that I loved was how this felt like the Spider-Man version of Batman Beyond. I would love this to be a start of a series or something. I think they can do a lot here.
I teared up with the Stan Lee stuff. This was the ultimate tribute.
We're getting at least two more movies, a direct sequel, and a female focused spin-off with Gwen, Silk, and one or two other spider-women.
I wouldn't mind a movie with any of these characters as a protagonist. Well, maybe not Spider-Ham, but I'm game for the rest. Maybe it worked to my advantage that I am not familiar with their other appearances so I was never double-guessing the movie's interpretation of them. Well, other than Green Goblin anyway, that was a bit odd.
The animation was interesting, I'm not sure if I was getting used to it or if it changed but by the end there were scenes that seemed to approach the uncanny valley. It was cool to see their novel approach to animation, it was pretty fresh and distinctive. There was a weird moment at Fisk's soiree where the close-up on Spidey and MJ had some odd ghosting.
Hailee Steinfeld has me even more interested in checking out Bumblebee now. I could really see Kathryn Hahn come through in the Doctor Octopus design. Everybody did a pretty good job with their roles actually right down the line.
The end credit scene was pretty funny. I might've traded Peter Porker for

I've unfortunately seen that working in a comic shop does not necessarily mean a love of comics.
I haven't heard anything about it going that big, just that they're doing the two movies I mentioned before. There definitely is potential to keep expanding things out, there are plenty of Spider characters in the comics.
Into the Spider-Verse won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture - Animated.
Maybe I’m just hoping for it but if this movie can finally dethrone Pixar/Disney at the Oscars, that would be a good thing.

This year is a very tight race. Incredibles 2, Isle of Dogs, and Into the Spider-Verse are all excellent films and worthy of the win. I don't know if Ralph Wrecks the Internet will get nominated but it's also very good, and while I haven't seen Mirai, I'm certain it's a strong contender, too.

Not really that but it gives more variety to the best animated genre. Also Spider Verse was so much bertter than Incredibles 2, in my opinion.
Pixar has produced a lot of great films and those that deserved to win, won, but not all of them have won or even been nominated. It's only in the last five, ten years has it faced strong enough actual competition to not win.
