Sooooo, what do people think of "Titans" eh guys?

Been thinking of giving it a watch and popped my head in here to gauge the wind....

It'll be on Netflix in your region and it's got these cute people in it:

Plus two Robins!

So I'd say give it a whirl. :techman:

You must be aware however that there's ARTICLES on the INTERNET by IMPORTANT PEOPLE about BEHIND THE SCENES DRAMA that are more important than actually watching the show and forming your own opinion just so you know... :p

Whether or not the reports of behind the scenes jiggery-pokery are true, the finale did come off as a little jarring and a very strange choice given the lead-up. So if someone credible is saying that it was initially designed as the penultimate episode to an actual finale, I certainly wouldn't be surprised.

None of that changes the overall appeal of the show for me though. I was very pleasantly surprised at the level of quality and fidelity in both the re-imagining of so many notable character as well as being much more faithful than to the source material than just about any other DC live-action production I've ever seen. It may not have stuck the landing in my eyes, but it was a season well worth watching and I look forward to what they do in the second season.

The show was announced with 12 episodes and they aired 11, I've mentioned as much in my initial post upon watching the episode, I think it's pretty obvious this was supposed to be the penultimate episode and they held over the actual finale for a season 2 opener, and I would indeed assume it's likely they did that to reshoot parts of it.

Again, I haven't read the article, but from the summary provided here it seems it was suggesting the entire show was massively reshot for some reason, which is the part I have a hard time believing. Since the show is pretty much linear and shot almost entirely on location, any giant interventions would have required lots of time and money, and since they obviously didn't manage to reshoot the parts of the finale that they wanted to change (which should be most of them together on one location, so way easier to organize) it just seems an odd and self-contradictory bit of speculation.

All of that however was basically beside my point, I don't care if they reshot every single scene, I just found it funny that the site which made up "reported" a bunch of articles about the show now claims they reshot all the bits that didn't turn out to be true, but clearly it's against the law not to take this stuff absolutely seriously for some people...

In case it wasn't super obvious, I have a very low opinion of any and all geek media sites... ;)

I'm pretty sure Screen Rant is a legitimate entertainment news site that isn't going to go around making up stuff like this.

They're not.

Many of the articles they publish are bereft of both logic and facts, and often contain assertions that are blatantly and provably inaccurate based on the latter (facts).

:guffaw:

I'm assuming this was tongue in cheek....?

Oh @dodge, sweet, I'll give it a go after binge watching Grimm :)

Your "all media news sites are the devil and must automatically be dismissed as nonsense" knee-jerk default mode is puerile, juvenile and annoying.

Yeah, I'm sure those sites will somehow survive without my unequivocal support...
They have yours, for one, and I got that from your first reply, which by the way I didn't initially reply to because whatever floats your boat dude.

And then when going to post something completely different yesterday I noticed you edited that post two days later to make it clear how much you think I'm a stinky poopyhead whose all posts are shit so if you wanna talk juvenile behaviour look in the mirror, buddy.

You've made it quite clear from your subsequent posts you automatically dismiss everything I say on these boards anyway, which is absolutely fine by me, and yet at the same time you demand I read and argue some stupid-ass article seriously and have the nerve to get pissed at me when I don't? If you expected me not to mock that sort of behaviour you're displaying now, you clearly aren't as familiar with my post history as you claim to be...

You claim you wanna "argue the article", but you keep arguing about me, which is frankly coming off as kinda creepy. Don't know/don't care what your problem with me is, but I have no such beef with you, so I'll spare you a dismissive gif that you seem to dread so much at least. Consider it mercy. :p

Sweet? I probably should have mentioned the dead people and blood splatters too... ;)

Do you want an objective reason to watch a piece of fiction, whose enjoyment is subjective by definition..?

I wanted actual reasons as to why people think the series is worth watching, not just generic positive opinion platitudes.

But with only 4 days left on my free trial anyway, I've decided not to bother committing to watching anything major on the service until we get more content that I know that I'd be interested in investing the time and money in from the start.

I'm probably the age demo that this show is marketed towards, and I found it abysmal.

The emo, edgelord tone of the series really doesn't suit these characters. The writing isn't very intelligent or compelling, it's sloppy. Basically on par with Iron Fist. Only difference is the kid playing Robin is actually a decent lead, unlike Finn Jones.

Hopefully they commission a DC film someday that does the Titans justice. I think after JL bombed, WB/DC may look for more team-based superhero films to fill the void.

(For the record, I read as many words of your post as you read of the article I posted. That's just me giving me giving your posts the exact same consideration that you gave mine.)
