Culber seems to dress to the code even posthumously. Although were he but an angelic vision deep in Stamets' noggin, he'd probably look especially angelic in that familiar uniform anyway.

In which set are Georgiou and Tyler standing in the season-promo photos? Seems clean, i.e. not a shipwreck, but I don't recognize the set detail from the hero ship. Also, a fancy sidearm on Tyler. Have we seen that before? Doesn't look Klingon.

The spacesuits feature rather wonderful nods to the TOS things. The old helmets were of course beyond redemption, but the DSC take has the tinfoil suit and the curvy latches, just with extra kit on top now.

Nice to see #1 is a Lieutenant Commander now...

It’s the two floor, probably section 31, set seen in the BTS vids.

And he’s holding the same black phaser Georgiou is.

I like the Dept Colored Spacesuits and that we see the crew woman that Reno saves in that pic.
Also, apparently Pike has been hanging out with Spock for to long, he's imitating the eyebrow arch. :techman:

There's another character (a Guy) with what looks like a bionic headset in the transporter pic.

Indeed. Are these "still" prosthetics for war invalids, or rather a sign of times? Did Kirk have a healthier crew, or one with more phobias? Was Uhura an invalid without her earpiece, perhaps? Did Spock wear his as a damper against human-level output volumes?

Interesting phasers: the "The Cage" trio of barrels is gone, but the general TOS Type II layout persists, only now with that pronounced overhang above the barrel. Basically this is the ST5/6 gun, then. S31 just got it first...

"Brother"? One thing season one did so perfectly it was as if they did it especially for me, was give their episode long pretentious names. Now they come up with "Brother"??

    Betrayal.

"Brother" sounds like a Berman Trek title. I prefer titles that sound like 19th Century prose.

    But what's in a name?

I think "Brother" is a great title. It works on multiple levels. There's the obvious fraternal reference, but then there's season's 'Faith v. Science' motif to consider.

Spock is, for lack of a better word, the 'icon' or persona of science in Star Trek. But there's also the mystical element they're building up to, and 'Brother', of course, refers to monks.

Georgiou, Tyler, and Culber will be more prominent than I thought if they're in The Top Nine, meaning the nine who have cast photos presented.

ah yes, "section 31 uniform" continues to be a thing in the star trek universe, much like the CIA's tight leather jumpsuits and MI5's big shouldered tunics.

I don’t see the issue. It’s for the audience

correct, but it's still absurd that a clandestine organization would have its own uniforms. especially ones so arch.

based on the computer screens, this hallways is on the Discovery, I don't think we've seen a corridor on Discovery like this though in Season 1.

I think the problem is no one can seem to figure out what Section 31 is supposed to be.

The original concept of them being non-official, non-compulsory was stupid and best forgotten. And having uniforms seems contradictory.

Then they became the Fed's stand-in for the CIA/MI-6, which I suppose is fine in a puerile yet acceptable troupe sort of way. But that would suggest they're under civilian authority/oversight. As such, they wouldn't have uniforms.

Disco treats them as just the black ops branch of SF (Seals, SAS), which I suppose they could have uniforms to wear in non-operational situations. But then they'd just wear the standard SF service unis. And the black Deltas wouldn't be necessary.
