News Next Arrowverse Crossover to Include Batwoman

Would it be too meta if there was an organization that patrols the multi-verse and used that logo?
That would be Justice Incarnate from the Multiversity (okay not the logo part)

One thing that disappointed me a bit: there was a moment when Oliver was confronting the Monitor (or was it Deegan?) when I wanted him to say "You have failed this universe." Missed opportunity there.

Speaking of missed opportunities, it's weird that Arrow's new, post-prison-arc opening narration debuted this week -- and it was delivered by Grant Gustin. It would've made more sense as a variation on a sequence we'd already seen, but there was no way within the story structure to achieve that, since the status quo it describes wasn't set up until the end of the previous episode.

Anyone who would be triggered by that isn't worth the consideration.

Anyone who would use the word "triggered" that way in the first place is a heartless jerk. It doesn't mean "offended" or "made uncomfortable"; it refers to stimuli that can trigger post-traumatic flashbacks or panic attacks, like how a car backfire sound can trigger a combat veteran, or how a depiction of sexual assault can trigger a survivor of same. It takes a truly insensitive and uncaring person to dismiss that kind of trauma as mere hypersensitivity, or to liken it to their own fear of ideas they don't agree with.

Random thought, Apropos of nothing: During the Arkham scenes I couldn't help but wonder why with the deluge of Batman easter eggs they didn't slip in a Joker reference (unless they did and I missed it of course.) I mean they've already had Mark Hamill on 'Flash' more than once, would his fee for just recording a maniacal laugh to be played behind a padded cell door break the budget? (Possibly!)
But it just now occurred to me that with Batman having been gone for the last three years, Joker (assuming he didn't have anything to do with Bruce's absence) might be damn near catatonic with depression a la DKR.

The appearance of Harley Quinn in Arrow season 2 already inferred the existence of the Joker.
Was that in the final episode? For some reason I thought it was a deleted scene.

Not that I even remotely doubt the existence of either Joker or Harley now that Batman is 100% confirmed. I mean you can't have one without the other. ;)

When Nora Fries was searching the shelves for Mr. Freeze's gun, there was what looked like a pair of dentures in a jar just below Bane's mask. It was probably meant to be one of the Joker's sets of chattering teeth.

Her offscreen voice was heard in one episode, and an on-camera glimpse of her was deleted from another episode. I don't think her name was given in either, although she is listead as Harley Quinn in the Arrowverse Wiki.

If we're finally talking about the episode again one odd thing I noticed is that during the final fight in the third part they had J'onn saving people from fire, which just seemed like an odd choice... I guess fire is the cheapest effect they could cgi in there, but couldn't they have just chucked a bucket of foam rocks on them or something.

I noticed that as well. It totally threw me out of the story. I expected him to scream or have some sort of reaction.

[nerd explanation]Well, J'onn is vulnerable to Earth-38 fire, not Earth-1 fire--just like Superman is only vulnerable to Kryptonite from his own universe, as seen in Issue 54, Vol. 3, of Superman in 198...wait, wait...waaaiiiitt. I wasn't finis....[/nerd explanation] ;)

I wish just once they'd set a sizeable part of one of these crossovers in National City (I would've said "on Earth-38," but we did get the Kent Farm here), so that the Supergirl cast could have more than bit appearances. Here, J'onn could've been left out entirely without any effect on the story.

That's a cool idea. Sort of Legends of Tomorrow meets Sliders.

This is why I don't think Crisis on Infinite Earths next year is going to collapse the multiverse, despite the title. There's just too much story potential in having a multiverse. Heck, what would Tom Cavanaugh do if there weren't a multitude of Wells variants anymore?

Also, part of the appeal of the multiverse idea to many viewers is that it lets them imagine that other DC series like Black Lightning, Titans, or Krypton -- or the movies -- might be parallel Earths in the multiverse. (That doesn't really work for me in most cases, but others enjoy the idea.) Whatever CoIE does on The CW couldn't affect any DC shows on other networks, let alone the movies. So if they end up saying "The multiverse is gone and there's now only Earth-1," then people couldn't pretend that the other DC shows shared the same multiverse anymore. And Berlanti Productions has a remarkable track record for indulging and satisfying fan theories, so I don't see them choosing to do that.
If they decided to actually go this way in COIE, would they legally be allowed to show clips from shows not on The CW, like Gotham or Titans?

Now that you mention it, I remember noticing that and being surprised.
In 1999, the Amazing Rick Dees, played a character called Ricardo Diaz, on Days of Our Lives.
OK, that is incredibly random.

Now that I've finally made it through the thread I can share my thoughts. This was my least favorite episode of the three, but it was still very good.
The alternate universe stuff was pretty fun, although I was a bit disappointed we didn't get to see what unaltered Alex-1 and James-1 were like.
The Supeman/Superman fight was pretty cool.
It will interesting to see what exactly Oliver's deal with The Monitor was. I wonder if we'll have to wait all the way until Crisis on Infinite Earth's to find out, or if it'll come into play earlier?
I was hoping for more Superman after the first one, and this one definitely delivered, to a surprising degree. I really liked the scene with Clark and Lois at the Fortress. I thought Clark and Kara's talk at the end was a nice moment, and I thought Lois being pregnant was a nice way to take him out of play for a while. I am a bit disappointed we won't get more Lois for the foreseeable future, I really like Elizabeth Tulloch's take on her. I wonder if they'll at least be back for COIFE?
The Legends of Tomorrow cameo was not the character I was expecting.

As I said, I think it would be limited to the CW shows. Yes, they've revived '90 Flash and Constantine, but neither was easy; it took a fair amount of negotiation to get Constantine, and it took them years of teases and doppelgangers before they finally managed to get the actual OG TV Flash onscreen. On the other hand, they did manage to arrange a Flash/Supergirl crossover while the two were on different networks. So it's possible that something with the Titans universe might be doable. That show has had a couple of characters played by different actors than their Arrowverse namesakes, so it doesn't fit the normal rules of Arrowverse doppelgangers, but the inclusion of Flash '90 has opened that door (because of its alternate Iris West, Captain Cold, and Mirror Master).

Still, I think it's probably best not to expect cross-network references. While it's not out of the question, it's not the most likely possibility.

Me neither, but in retrospect, it was a logical choice. Gary's been kind of a breakout character, and he is a recurring guest star rather than a lead, so it was probably easier to fit the guest spot into his schedule.
