Question: Where is it explicitly said that Kirk took command immediately after Pike?

Explicit dialogue in VOY: Flashback.
How?

If the show doesn't depict it, it doesn't mean anything.

Remember, a few months ago the party line was "Discovery holograms weren;t solid" despite Sarek leaning on a bench in the first episode. Now we have irrefutable proof they're solid from "Calypso".
The hologram in Calyso wasn't solid. Craft practiced all the movements to make it look like they were dancing together then walked right through her later in the scene

It's not that bad.
We've sustained a healthy and hearty discussion while kinda-sorta staying on topic (at least drifting around it) and without anybody being overtly obnoxious.

No warnings or bans (yet )

And the original question was pretty much answered with several posts giving reasonable conjectures based on what we've seen in the episodes and movies.

It wasn't until the "paid CBS plant" :nyah: brought up the idea on page one (post #17) that the current Producers could change anything They wanted that the conversation began to drift a bit.

That was hardly the case in 'Calypso'. The Hologram projection apparatus was large and clearly visible. Also, the hologram was very primitive and see through. They also made a point to show the character Craft practicing his dance moves for weeks so it's no surprise he could appear to be 'holding' the image as they danced.
The apparatus is behind the usually white-lit beams and always there. Otherwise, how would they see the people they speak to in the Disco series?
.....they deliberately show craft practicing the routine, including where to put his hands on hers......
It is not as if Craft had anyone else to practice with, so of course he is going to do the hand movements as if he is dancing with someone.

IOW, DSC exists in the same universe as TAS, even if VOY doesn't. Or then the characters spoke in error, which is less interesting than alternate universes but just possibly more likely.
So TAS is in continuity but VOY isn't? Then where was Michael Burnham during "Yesteryear"?

They can, they have and they will again. As others have speculated, they may bring Kirk in for season 3, or spin off a Pike and Spock series on the Enterprise. If O'Brien saying the new holocomm on the USS Defiant can be ignored, or Harry Kim saying there were no holodecks in the 23rd century can too, not to mention Spock's saying cloaking devices were purely theoretical until "Balance of Terror", then any other lines can and will be ignored in order to tell whatever story the Disco producers want. It's just not very established Trek continuity of them.

Ya know, you're acting like this kinda thing is something new and has never happened before in any other Trek series or movie...
Since it seems to be your thing to bring up previous instances in archival form, how about posting a list of as many of the times other producers of Trek entertainment have done the same thing, as you can find or remember.

I'm sure a consensus of us would really enjoy being well informed about any abject changes that have come about by other previous Trek incarnations being ignored.

I think a Paid CBS Plant should follow the Company Line. To do otherwise is a breech of contract and grounds for termination.

Dun-dun-dunnnnn....

Think about the impressive benefits package and the 401K Plan. Plus the highly competitive base-salary on top of the commission you gain for every fan you turn into a subscriber. Not to mention the paid tuition on our dime to pursue an advanced degree with training in the field of your choice. You're very valuable to us and we also value your service to our cause. We don't want to lose you.

And, quite frankly, it shouldn't mean much to anyone else either.

It should if it is being sold as one continuous story/universe, which they are doing. The flubs don't make the show bad ( the writing does), but to say they aren't important when the creative team/CBS are beating us over the head that this is all supposed to fit together is silly.

The very nature of how they are selling this show is that it is all one big happy universe. If they are selling the show in a certain way, I think it is fair for people to be critical when they aren't meeting the standard they set.

What is "new" is them beating us over the head with it being "Prime".

But it does all fit together nicely. Just because they went in and replaced some pines with oaks doesn't mean the forest suddenly looks different from the outside.

Depends how deep into the forest you go? For me, it isn't even the continuity, there's just nothing about the show that reminds me of the 23rd century, beyond some names.

But they aren't selling it that way. Kurtzman has made a few comments to the effect in an obvious attempt to pander. And I've called him out for each time, specifically because they were not at all in line with the pretense of the promotional material.
