Obama wanted to help out some old friends during his term as president.

The stuff with Hank with the Legend was pretty good, seeing him geek out over Hemingway was fun, and it was nice to see him and Nate work out some of their issues. Hank actually singing the Minitaur to sleep was a nice moment.
Ava, Mona, and Nora bonding was a lot of fun too. I liked shrunk Ray smuggling himself into Nora's cell in the envelope.

It's still unclear whether or when Obama was president on Earth-1. "Invasion!" took place a week before Christmas 2016 and showed a nameless white male president getting killed off and replaced by his VP Susan Brayden. Then an Arrow episode aired 5 days after Inauguration Day referenced a female president, presumably Brayden. And yet LoT has subsequently referenced both Obama and Trump, while not explicitly coming out and saying that either one served as POTUS there. It's kind of a mess.

I kind of worry about Nate. Are they planning on writing him out of the show? His goodbye at the end felt kind of real. When he first came onto the show I didn't expect to like him but now I think he is great. Which has happened to with every new character they have added except for Amaya and the new character by the actress. I just don't think the actor is very good. Worst since the Hawkeye and Kendra characters from season 1.

As for the episode I loved the episode. I am loving the time Bureau stuff this season maybe even more than the magic stuff. Only average one all year was the Witch Trial episode and that still had the brilliant Fairy God Mother demon in it. Like said above by others I enjoyed the banter between the ladies in the cell but am worried it might have been to soon to make Nora liked by others except Ray. I think we are also at a point also were we need to some more info on the demon that is after Constantine.

I doubt it, because he's just moving permanently to the Time Bureau, and the show seems committed to focusing equally on the Bureau and the Waverider this season. Also, Hank's arc is still ongoing for a while to come, it seems.

I know but I was thinking more about what happens at the end of this season. Is this their way to gradually say goodbye to the character. As much as I enjoy the TIme Bureau stuff I wonder how long-term they plan it to be part of the show.

Keep in mind that producers' plans evolve in response to the popularity of the actors. They wouldn't have made Ava a regular if her chemistry with Sara hadn't worked, and Gary was kind of an unexpected breakout character. That's no doubt why they've made the Time Bureau more central. So as long as the Time Bureau characters/actors are popular, then the Bureau will remain a part of the show.

    Fun show, fun episode.

Nate at the Time Bureau....I read somewhere that the actor has a sick family member (father?) and the show runners allowed him less work time to care for that person. That is why he was assigned to the Bureau.

For a good laugh Google "Biff sings the Michael J. Fox song"

Great episode! Legends has really found its groove as the funny, cheesy and wacky show.

For my money, it's the best of the bunch.

Hemmingway: "I don't think we'll be seeing that creature any time soon."
    Fitzgerald (drunkenly): "Then what's that!?"

The show can be so silly stupid and really smart at the same time.

I was about to give up on Legends this season because I am not really into the magical element. But I decided to watch the "Godzilla" episode and then this one. I am glad I came back.

Well, so much for my hope that we'd finally get a followup to the dangling threads from Constantine's NBC series. At this point, I think they probably don't have the rights to specific plot points from that show, just the character.

I missed some of the explanation for why John sent Desmond to hell.
Mona falling for the Kobe (not sure if I spelled that right), was a fun little surprise, although now I feel bad for poor Gary.
The stuff with the doll and puppet Stein was a lot fun.
Ava geeking out over the serial killers was a nice little character moment.
It was nice to finally get an explanation for what drove Constantine to join the Legends. I wonder if Neron will end up popping up as the big bad at the end of the season? He feels like to big of a name with to much of emotional connection to one of our team members to be just a simple name drop.

I think that Desmond agreed to bind his soul to Neron as part of a deal with Neron to spare John's life, but then John banished Neron to Hell anyway, because he had to, and that sucked Desmond down along with him.

And by the way, it's entirely in character for Constantine to have known that would happen and chosen to do it anyway because it still needed to be done. We saw him do something similar once or twice on his NBC show -- sacrifice a friend to get the job done.

I just looked that up minutes ago -- it's a Kaupe, a Hawai'ian demon that's sort of like a werewolf crossed with a siren, in that it lures in its victims with its call and then devours them. I'd link to the Wikipedia article, but it's badly written.

He lost a lot of my sympathy when he attempted "negging" Mona.

During the commercial break, after we saw the felt hand pick up the knife but before the big reveal, I was mulling over what kind of doll they might have on the Waverider, and then it struck me -- "Oh my god, it's Puppet Stein!" I think they showed a glimpse of the possessed puppet in a season trailer a couple of months ago, and I remembered it after thinking it over a bit.

Seems likely. He may emerge earlier than that, though -- I'd guess he'd be a major recurring threat in the back half of the season.

Ok, thanks. I thought it was probably something along those lines.

Never heard of them before. I think there's a Japanese mythological creature called a Kobe or Kope or something along those lines, so I figured that was what he was.

    I forgot about that.:ack:

That seems like a good possibility.
I remembered one other thing I forgot to mention before. I'm assuming the guys who tried to grab the Kaupe were working for Hank Heywood.

Someone is going to need to tell me what negging is.
