He is the absolute worst. When he is "calling" a game, I turn the sound off.
Buck is literally on record saying that he finds baseball boring. He does it strictly for the paycheck and because of his old man's legacy.

I would wager that he feels the same about football or anything else he calls. You can tell he finds no joy in it whatsoever.Buck is literally on record saying that he finds baseball boring. He does it strictly for the paycheck and because of his old man's legacy.
When he's paired with John Smoltz, he's tolerable if only because I've learned how to tune him out while listening to Smoltz's useful and engaging commentary.
If only they could just chuck Buck and find Smoltz a better partner, but I know that won't happen.![]()
I'm not sure what there is to "love" about a guy with a 78 career OPS+, but, he's 26, everything about him projects as a utility bench guy. Looking through game logs, when he starts he's basically an automatic 0-4. He's like a ... not-fat Lenny Harris. Good defensive replacement, not someone to have in the lineup every day.
Yeah, I remember that game. Kasper was all right but mostly because he wasn't Buck. For one of the Cubs games, maybe the playoff game, they had Len Kasper paired with Smoltz. It was alright. Tons better without Buck for damn sure.

On the flip side, I'm just grateful I don't have to listen to Tim McCarver's inane prattle anymore.
I like Len & J.D. They aren't the best, but not annoying either. Maybe they're just the devils I know.
Of course, I was a big Harry Carey fan, and Steve Stone was OK paired with Harry.
Len Kasper is easily one of the top PBP guys in baseball today. DeShaies is a decent color guy, but he gets pretty cranky when Len starts talking about advanced statistics and it occasionally makes the broadcasts a bit awkward.
I met Len once (a former boss' sister is married to him and he was in Madison), and he's just the chillest dude ever.
The Cubs traded pinch hitter Tommy LaStella to the Angels for PTBN or cash.
So more in LoLMets, looks like the deal between the Mets & Mariners for Cano will be Cano and Diaz for Prospects and Salary. If the Mariners do this, they nuts.
The blockbuster deal between the Mets and Mariners is a done deal. Mets get Cano & Diaz for Jay Bruce and prospects.
