Daredevil season 3 Marvel/Netflix

I'm actually not all that surprised by this. While the cancellation of iron Fist could easily be taken as a decision based of critical reaction and low viewership numbers, Luke Cage's on the other hand seemed MUCH less likely to have been for those same reasons. The most reasonable explanation therefore was a business decision having to do with Disney's upcoming streaming service that seeks to directly compete with Netflix. As such that means all of these shows are likely to finish up their current production orders and then shut down.

Whether these characters or the actors playing them will show up again elsewhere is a decision probably left entirely up to Disney & Marvel. I hope so, but I won't hold my breath, not while they have plans for Loki & Scarlet Witch shows on the books.

I'm sure it won't happen, but I'd love for another Defenders after JJ/Punisher to wrap up all the Netflix series'. (As I very much doubt they'll continue elsewhere.)

Just read about the cancellation this morning. What a gut punch. Dare Devil, coupled with Jessica Jones are my two favorite Marvel shows on Netflix. I really hope it finds a home (with the current cast) on the Disney + service...

Bummed.... Q2

Yeah, I'd love that, too, but considering how mixed The Defenders was received (even though I loved it), I doubt that'll happen.

Not entirely surprised. Why would Disney want or need to compete with it's own property.
Hope we see DareDevil in the movies. He's the one character I really liked out of all of them and Charlie Cox was great, let's keep him too.

I'm not that surprised either. Though I was thinking Daredevil might be the last show to get canceled. That being said, I think the show went out on a strong note and I felt Season 3 brought the series full circle.

At this point, they might as well just go ahead and announce that Punisher and Jessica Jones are done as well so that people go into the yet-to-be-released seasons of those shows knowing their fates.
Yeah it seems a little weird to lave them hanging like that. Though Luke was cancelled fairly soon after Iron Fist, if I recall correctly, so maybe we'll see that happen here. Up to know I had actually though that Luke and Iron Fist were cancelled to make way for a Heroes for Hire show. Treat the whole reveal like a fake out. I know that sounds silly.

Remind me to dance on the grave of your favorite show when it gets canceled.

Jokes on you, almost all of my favorite shows are either cancelled, ended or went to shit, with the exception of a few anime and Lucifer (which was cancelled to be fair, although luckily Netflix has saved it for at least one season). Hell, most of the shows I used to like a lot I actively want to be cancelled at this point (stuff like Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow and Agents of SHIELD specifically all need to be put out of their misery).

I mean, I guess I'm starting to like The Flash again (I've found that ignoring any scene with fake Ralph Dibny makes the show actually decent this season), but lets be honest, The Flash will go to shit again fairly soon, like all CW shows do. So, there isn't really much for you to celebrate dying. Lucifer will probably only get one more season regardless, most CW Arrowverse shows are shit, hell even Doctor Who is having the worst series in its over 50 year history. So, you can basically pick between The Flash and...maybe Star Trek Discovery if I'm being super generous (the middle episodes were so bad, but the opening 2-3 and the Mirrorverse episodes were decent, making me interested in season 2) as shows for you to celebrate dying, and I'm only barely invested in those shows at this point. We're in the dark age of television, there isn't much to celebrate or care about right now.

So, yeah, I don't have much sympathy for people who just lost their favorite show, because I've lost a ton of my favorite shows just in the last few years, the only difference is that most of them are technically still around even though they're basically dead, like zombies. Hell, I lost Daredevil a season before you did, to be there are only two seasons of the show for me, so my sympathy is nonexistent in this case.

You do realize that Seasons 1 & 3 of Daredevil (plus the initial four-part Punisher arc in Season 2) and Seasons 4+ of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are critically acclaimed, right? And that they're both usually mentioned alongside Agent Carter: Season 1, Jessica Jones: Season 1, The Flash: Season 1, Arrow: Seasons 1-2 & 5, Legends of Tomorrow: Seasons 2+, Black Lightening and Legion as the best TV series to come out of the current superhero boom?

And that Daredevil, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s last five 8-12 episode "mini-seasons" and Legends of Tomorrow are considered the most consistent of the superhero shows currently running by fans and critics? I mean, I get that you don't like them (And that's perfectly okay. Different strokes for different folks and all that), but you're clearly in the minority.

Oh, yeah, because critical acclaim automatically means something is good  Also, I'm definitely in the majority of hating Agent Carter, because that turd barely got two seasons and has been forgotten by most people who aren't huge Marvel fans. I was going to go on a mini rant about Legion, but suffice it to say I believe its the worst Marvel related show any made, but I guess it appeals to people who enjoy powerful drugs and hate a coherent plot or good acting.

Also, I loved Daredevil Season 1, The Flash season 1-2, and Arrow Season 1-2 (and Legends of Tomorrow Season 1) and liked Agents of SHIELD Season 1-2 and half of 3 a lot. Those were great shows deserving of praise. They went to shit eventually and were/are all awful after the first few seasons, but they were some of my favorite shows ever for a few years.

:rommie::guffaw::lol:

Yeah I imagine that this is curtains now for all of the Marvel shows, though I'll mostly feel it with Daredevil, Luke Cage and (if it happens) Jessica Jones.

I'm glad DD at least ended on a good note. Luke Cage was all a bit up in the air.

It just occurred to me that this shift away from Netflix may be at least partly the reason why 'Agents of SHIELD' got a preemptive pickup through to season seven, since with the Netflix shows gone AoS is the only other really acclaimed Marvel presence on the small screen. Not sure how it might impact 'Runaways' or 'Cloak & Dagger', though I suppose it may depend on when the movie character spin-off shows are coming.

I'd hope to see the Netflix characters in a new show or shows on Disney. They might even be able to widen the T.V.verse with some crossovers from the non Netflix shows.

I'd prefer them to appear in the film's, but while Ike's still involved that's not going to happen.

Really enjoyed Charlie Cox's performance so I am sharing this hope.

So you have the same experience but lack sympathy? :wtf:

Someone needs beaten. Beaten with clubs. Repeatedly...and then kicked in the balls...over and over and over again. :brickwall::censored:

Better yet, they need to have their head slammed into the door of a limo repeatedly until their brains pop out. Or their suit jacket wrapped over their head and hit with a left hook until they stop responding.

Clearly I'm being facetious and do not advocate brutal murder, but it adequately describes my level of upset here.

It was Charlie Cox's performance as Matt Murdock/DD that inspired me to lose 70lbs and get in shape (other than round, which was indeed a shape, but not the one I desired). Daredevil on Netflix had a special meaning for me.

What the fuck, Marvel & Netflix? I was mad about the losing Luke Cage, but I kept myself calm by telling myself at least DD should be safe since it's even more popular. Guess I was wrong.:scream:
Well, once you hit rock bottom, there is no real reason to drag things out. If only Agents of SHIELD had learned that a few seasons ago...

(Yeah, Daredevil was probably cancelled so Disney could do the show on its streaming service, but I can still pretend that it was cancelled for the reason it should have been cancelled).

Have you actually watched whole episodes of these shows, or are you just talking out of your ass again? I honestly don't know how could watch most these shows and talk like that. I could see not liking them as much as most other people, but this kind of response just baffles. I know I tend have very different tastes compared to a lot of people, but holy shit you take that to a whole other level.
