Official Avengers 4 Anticipation Thread

He didn't say 'will have'. He says 'right now has'. Meaning, it was still an early edit, including rough CGI. They're still editing it. It could end up shorter.
Yeah, you're right. I meant to phrase it differently but I got excited by the potential three hours running time.

To all of the naysayers who said there was zero chance for the Netflix characters to appear in either of these movies, it turns out the Russo Brothers did consider using them.

Their explanation for not including them makes sense and I'm ultimately fine with it, but it is nice to see they actually considered using them, contrary to some people's belief that it simply couldn't happen for this reason or that. :p

I'm still not entirely convinced that it won't happen anyway. Both Charlie Cox and Finn Jones were spotted in Tokyo when Avengers 4 was filming there. That doesn't mean anything all by itself, after all Scarlett Johansson was spotted in Atlanta when Spider-Man Homecoming was filming, but it's a heck of a coincidence.

Yeah, that's probably a coincidence. Didn't they actually post on social media at the time? If so, I think that reduces the chances of them appearing because I would think Marvel would tell them to be quiet in order not to ruin the surprise.

I still hope they'll be part of the aforementioned 65+ characters scene (along with Coulson, etc.) but I've made my peace with the strong possibility that they won't be in it.

Also if there was any thing filmed it could also end up on the cutting room floor. Especially now that Netflix appears to be canceling all the Marvel shows.

I doubt Netflix' decisions will have any impact. They're cancelling the shows because Disney is going to move them to their own service and they don't have to give money to a new competitor.

I've pretty much given up hope of the TV characters (besides Coulson) ever being seen in the movies. At this point I'd much rather see the Netflix characters pop up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., since that is probably more likely to actually happen.

They are Netflix's shows, not Disney's. Why would they agree to give popular shows to a new competitor? By far the most likely result here, even if people don't want it to be true, is that these shows are all officially done. Disney will move forward with other shows that have nothing to do with these characters. In time, maybe even reboot them entirely (the originals were never really tied into the MCU anyway).

If there ever was a plan for A4 cameos, this would be a very logical reason to reconsider. It'd be a bit weird for Charlie cox to show up here if Disney thinks they might reboot DD in a few years.

The Disney Plus shows will be more under Feige's control than Jeph Loebs', so that'll increase the chances of them being in the movies.

I hadn't considered this. It would be the perfect time and they could probably write them into the 2020 season

Is that just speculation on your part or do we know for a fact that Feige will have a role with Disney+?

Ah, that's good to know. That gives me hope for any and all MCU productions there. Crossing my fingers on him overseeing the former Netflix shows, too...

I can't see Netflix having exclusive rights to future seasons of any of their MCU shows. It would not take much to move the production to Disney. That said, I am not hopeful that Disney versions would have the same intensity.

Hm..... Sounds kinda odd. An Avengers trailer would overshadow a Captain Marvel trailer, I think. It doesn't make sense to release both together.
Unless the two trailers are connected--meaning the Avengers trailer is a Captain Marvel tie-in.
