Not cancelled per se, but not going to series instead, is Sue Sue in the City (the spinoff of The Middle) . Apparently the show's fate was sealed when Channing Dungey moved on/was fired from ABC. The article mentions the possibility of the show still going on, but on Freeform instead (ala Grown-ish).

Eden Sher was in an episode of Superstore a couple weeks ago, so I assumed that she was joining the cast... Apparently not. :)

    1. She needed to be fired.
    2. Whomever is replacing her needs to be fired.
    3. Change the damn name!

Well, her character was fired (in favor of the guy who peed on the floor).

Not cancelled, but George Eads is leaving MacGyver sometime in early 2019.

I didn't even know that show was still on tv? I am curious if anyone who watches this could tell me if RIchard Dean Anderson has ever guest starred on it?

I dropped the show after the pilot, but I think there would've been some pretty big buzz if Anderson appeared on the remake (ditto for Selleck and the Magnum remake). I don't think Anderson's acted in anything in a few years. IMBD lists his last gig as 2013.

    (Seen every episode)

MacGyver's daddy (also a spy/engineer) went missing decades ago when Mac was very young. On and off in season one and 2, MacGyver was following bread crumbs to "rescue" his father from an unknown issue.

It seemed a sure thing that when the father was brought into the light that daddy would be portrayed by Richard Dean Anderson.

    Nope.

    Tate Donovan.

Although considering how old RDA is, 13 years older than Tate Donovan, maybe they are wanting Anderson to play Angus' grandpa "Harry" who was always a fun character in TOS?

That sucks. Really liked that show. Hopefully they won't kill Punisher too. This feels like a preemptive severance leading up to the impending Netflix/Disney-Marvel divorce.

I think if the shows weren’t so expensive to produce, and weren’t licensed, it would be a different story.

But this isn’t a move to put them on Disney’s channel. At least not in their current incarnations. If they come back, they will be reboots, new versions.

As far as Punisher, I’m not sure if they are currently shooting the 2nd season, if so, I bet it will be the last. Like Jessica Jones, with the creator and showrunner off to WB, I bet the currently shooting 3rd season will be its last.

Isn't Disney Plus gonna just be G, PG and PG-13 fare?

Disney has the majority stake in Hulu. They could put their R-rated stuff there.

They also have FX which isn't R-rated but it's close. I think HBO and Showtime might be the only truly R rated places on tv. Many places don't have the restrictions that network tv does but I think HBO and Showtime still have the most freedom from censorship.

They could. Or when they get the IP back, when the liscense expires, make PG 13 versions of Cage, DD and Iron Fist to put on their channel.

The FCC only has control over broadcast TV, everything else, cable and streaming, is self regulated, and some prefer to keep stuff tame because that allows for the broadest possible audience of meek puritans and children.

That's what I think is also the case. I'm guessing it has to do with getting people to pay for adds but that's just a theory. Can you imagine some of the stuff in "Game of Thrones" and then cutting away for a Pepsi add!
