To me it looks like he's flying in to either stop or join the fight. It's kind of weird to see a cover composition where Superman is the least emphasized character. I mean, he's about on a par with Batwoman in placement, I guess, but he's also the only character depicted as behind anything, both the pipes and the lightning, so that pushes him into the background more than the others. Also, his pose doesn't really make him feel like part of the scene. Barry and Ollie are fighting each other, Supergirl's trying to stop them, Deegan is cackling evilly at what he's wrought, Batwoman is going after Deegan, but Superman is just in a generic flying pose, his body language not reacting to anything else in the scene. So that could've been improved, though the rest is good.

Amy ReederWho's the artist? There's a signature just above the Flash lightning on the lower left, but I can't tell what it says.
I love it when they do comics-style covers. Who's the artist? There's a signature just above the Flash lightning on the lower left, but I can't tell what it says.

Superman is not a title character on any of the shows. Neither is Batwoman, granted, but she's got her own show in the works, so it makes sense that they'd want to promote her as much or more than they would want to hype Superman, who is only a special guest-star in this context.

Superman’s supporting role reminds of the JLA YEAR ONE miniseries. Which represents a period of DC history, continuity POST Crisis in which he was not a founding member of the team. Or really even a full time member at all. More of an honorary member who was only involved in League missions when absolutely necessary. Which retroactively was all the big DC crossovers. All of which has been rewritten more times than I can keep track since than!
Yes and No.Isn't that normally the role Batman has normally played when it came to the Justice League?
I am not too fond of that comic book cover either. It’s the poor composition of the layout. But more than that. I have no memory of seeing previous work of that artist but I am not a fan of her style. The likeness are very poor and the detailing is very rough. Surprising they went for this after last year’s by Jerry Ordway. It was reported awhile ago George Perez is doing a new drawing of the Monitor. I was hoping for the promotion instead of this. Unless it’s in the actual episodes?
Ooh, a Perez poster would be awesome.
It’s best to remember that in the 60s, 70s, early 80s Batman was a very public Superhero.
You could count their appearances on one hand and have fingers left over.Superman and Batman being members of the Justice Society before that is a little complicated. They mostly were just honorary members rarely appearing in actual stories during the book’s original run.
