The bit in ""Pathfinder" where Admiral Paris says (of Tom) "Tell him...tell him I miss him. And I'm proud of him." and we see Tom's reaction.

Another Tom Paris moment: "One Small Step" where we're listening to John Kelly's logs. Kelly mentions "This time, I can't blame it on pilot error" and Tom visibly flinches at this - remembering the flight accident at Caldik Prime that got three cadets killed (an accident which Tom himself caused).

Also - I may be alone in this, but I actually liked the odd Vori language in "Nemesis." Of course we know the 'real' reason why the Vori talked that way - so we could see Chakotay gradually adopt the same speech patterns as he's indoctrinated into their cause. But I just thought it sounded kinda cool. Fathom? :D

    I fathom.

I also really loved the subtle language change in "NEMESIS". It reminded me of "Darmok" on TNG. (Joe Menosky did the teleplay for that, and he was a producer for VGR at this time. I wonder if he helped Kenneth Biller, who wrote "NEMESIS", with the language aspect.)

In One Small Step, when Seven gives her eulogy for John Kelly she finishes it with saying "The Yankee's, in six games". And Tom's little smile because he understood what she meant.

There's a good in-universe reason for that. When you need emergency medical aid, you may mangle the voice command due to your own deteriorating condition. It's a safety precaution.

Besides, if you really don't need him after all, just explain you goofed and shut him off. He may get a little miffed and begin lecturing you about wasting resources, but that's the worst that could happen. It's not like he'll re-program himself with a "crying wolf" subroutine and refuse to answer unless you prove you really do require medical help. Or maybe he would, come to think of it...

    1. The scene in "The 37's" when Janeway and Chakotay are enetringh the cargo bay to say goodbye to those who have decided to stay on the planet and there's no one there.

    2. Kes's speech to Toscat in "Caretaker".

    3. The scene in "Caretaker" when Kim says "We're on the other side of the galaxy". I got goosebumps when i watched it the first time and I still get the same feeling when I watch it today. Now the adventures really begin.

-The look on Janeway's face as she walks away from the transporter room at the end of "Tuvix". Tough decisions come with the burden of command and Janeway knew she had to live with the consequences of having made that decision.

I'm no fan of Janeway's decision in "Tuvix" but I do appreciate that they showed her own discomfort with it.

Actually, I'll add the EMH's refusal to perform the procedure. Also his standing up to Janeway in "Year of Hell", even if it was ultimately futile.

And also: Neelix protecting Harry Kim from the Klingon woman who wanted to mate with him. Neelix took all the brunt from the Klingon after Kim fled the scene....

    There are so many moments.
The end of Nemesis- Chakotay says:""I wish it were as easy to stop hating as it was to start."
The end of 37`er- Janeway and Chakotay enter the transporterroom and nobody is there.
Chakotay is crying about Janeway in "Coda"
    The Angry Warrior speech
    ...

I really like the Vori language. Great idea by the writers.

Sometimes I have this weird idea about buying some land on the US-Canadian border or an island outside the US or Canadian coast.
Then start a community there, declare it the Vori Republic with the Vori language as the official language. ;)

When Q says if only you could see the look on your face when they find out it was him, and he was like oh but you can, and then photographs appear in their hands.

The Klingon woman is by far my favorite Neelix moment. He sees a horny Klingon, pouring out affection to a scared uninterested man. So what does he do? Applies his knowledge of Klingons to redirect the situation to himself. I wish Neelix was written like that more often.

I appreciate in Projections how Kes is his wife in the simulation. At this point the Doctor is only starting to interact with people like a human and this is one of the early signs he’s capable of feelings not intentionally programmed into him.

They THREW it, gawd..., and now, that got me thinking......time after time, all this great food that never got inside anyone.

How many times have they just sat down with full plates, and an emergency calls them away?????

Or there’s a huge spread out, the ship gets hit, and the food hits the fan?

    A food fight, fergawdsake.

More food ends up on the floor than any other Trek, and when I see them sit down, I know something will happen, and fast.

    Nope. They won’t eat it.

    Maybe one bite.

Are you sure to be sorry? Often it was food prepared by Neelix. And the crew didn't seem to mind food prepared by Neelix being smashed on the floor, into someone's face or somewhere else. Heck, even Janeway's meal she wanted to offer to Chakotay was .... well.... charred. But you're right. Your food argument is something for the cliché thread.

Got me thinking but there were a fair few foodie moments in Voyager. Obviously leola root springs to mind... but Neelix and his Tuvix side were pretty good cooks mostly. Then when Tuvok was badly brain damaged he was a good cook! Seven could cook... Tom and his peanut butter toast. B'Elanna enjoying banana pancakes.

There was tasty food like the examples you mentioned and bad food (Janeway's charred roast). But often they were called away to duty. I guess it belongs to business. Good for characters in Trek like Vic, The Doctor, Odo and Data. They don't have to eat.
