Moments that Made You Emotional

You know what gave me a good cry? In TOS "Where No Man Has Gone Before" Gary Mitchell was trying to make the best of a bad situation. He was making the planet he was exiled on into a paradise for himself and his girlfriend. Growing apples and making springs of fresh clean water appear out of nowhere. What does his best friend do? He gives him a boulder for a hat. It gets me every time.
I have to rewatch this now!

End of City on the Edge, but not just the traffic accident, but also "Let's get the hell out of here." and McCoy collapsing in horror thinking of sutures doctor would use, and the homeless man immolating himself without witnesses.

Last few seconds of Corbomite Maneover.

Spock being told he didn't have to be blinded.

In The Conscience of The King, when Keridian reads Kodos's speech from memory. That's when Kirk, and the audience, realizes that Keridian is Kodos the excutioner, the man who killed thousands of innocent people.

When young Q literally zipped up Neelix' mouth, I would have liked to see Tuvok's face when he got the news. I bet it would have been an expression of pure joy! It was to me!

When Shatner hammed it up in "Turnabout Intruder". I was hurt that Sandra Smith was much more credible as Kirk than Shatner as Janice Lester.

I'm shocked that not many people have included Sito Jaxa from "Lower Decks" in this thread. Hurt more than the one episode Lal.
The end of "The Inner Light" hurts too.
Another scene that's being ignored is from "The Sound of Her Voice," when the Defiant crew bonds with that captain light years away, en route to rescuing her. When they get there, they find that she's actually been dead for a long time, and that their communication with her was possible due to some time-loop. That episode didn't get to you guys?
Oh, "Pinocchio is broken," from "The Measure of a Man."

Alidar Jarok's suicide and the scene immediately following it, with Picard, Data and his suicide note. Gut wrenching.

It's the same guy that played Odo's mentor. There were a few emotional moments between these two. In fact, they practically had the same argument twice in two different episodes. I remember the second time, I had a feeling of Deja vu.

Or maybe he was Kodos's file clerk, who had plastic surgery (and then some) to convince people he was actually Kodos in the hopes that he would be arrested and the Federation would have to come to grips with the fact that one of their colonies was allowed to be governed by a genocidal madman?

Or maybe the was Kodos's brother who designed a weapon that vaporized the people of a colony and was hoping to bring them back, by somehow putting their molecules back together again with the transporter.

The DS9 episode Duet. I just watched it yesterday regarding another discussion.

I felt so bad for Maritza (spell check there). The whole episode was a little gut wrenching, but when he was talking about the Bajorans screaming in the night and him hiding under his desk, I really felt for the situation.

The very last scene was the most emotional for me. It made me build up some respect for Kira. Not very fond of her character from the beginning she became one of my favorites in all of the shows.

There are exactly three scenes in Star Trek that physically bring tears to my eyes -

Spock's funeral (every time)

Voyager's return home (every time)*

The appearance of Enterprise at the end of Discovery season 1. (In at least two viewings).

*DS9 finale never did it for me, even though it's my favourite ending.

McCoy reliving his father's death. It hits close to home too because my own father passed away quite similarly too. I wasn't a big fan of STV then but rewatching it and seeing these scenes again after my father's passing really gave me a newfound respect for the movie. The whole scene is just very good with Spock seeing his birth and Kirk's "I need my pain!" speech. It's a really powerful scene.

Anytime Picard or Sisko get very emotional... Stewart and Avery just know how to make it so real, can't help but feel it with them.

Especially when Picard talked with Troi about the death of his brother and his nephew. He got emotional. Finally. Before, in front of his crew, he had to professionally suppress his emotions.
