George knows we are finishing the film, and he will be one of the first people to see the finished film before it gets put online.

As for when it will be completed, I expect it to be done within a few months. Starship FX take a while to render, and we still have a lot of FX to complete. We are also filming a music video this year for the film, for an original song.

I may be a barb reader, but I think I read an implied barb there, Barbreader ?

That Captain Atkin had previously mentioned completing the film in September 2017, but it's now September 2018 ?

When I see comments like that, it reminds me of how grateful the masses should be, to the few, who choose to give up their time, money and resources to make free fan films. In between their family, work and real life commitments.

They aren't working to our expectations or deadlines. I look forward to the Yorktown fan film when it arrives. In the meantime, I'm enjoying my family, work and real life commitments. And then it'll arrive and I'll enjoy watching it.

Maybe now I'm a barb writer ?
 
Life can often get in the way of getting these types of projects done; especially when you have a team of just a few people working hard to get the project made. As I write this, I have my 4 month old son sleeping on my chest. We can't always predict the future, try as we might, and other things (a new baby, a new job, etc...) take precedence over fun projects like this.

We don't have money for VFX at this time, so things get done when the artists who graciously volunteer their time get them done. If I had a VFX budget of a few thousand dollars, the film would be done within 2 months, but I don't have that kind of money just sitting around. In total, I've put about $13,000 of my own money into this project since 2012. This is a volunteer project, and a labour of love. It has been a long time, but we don't want to put out an inferior fan film. VFX work is still taking a while, but we are making great progress now. It will be wrapped in the near future, but I won't be giving an exact date until its done.

In the meanwhile, enjoy some new VFX shots from last week!

More like "the few". The "masses" never see fan films. :)

Having watched 6 years of "are we there yet?"s on "The Tressaurian Intersection" and been on the receiving end of some of it, I completely sympathize with Atkin's position.
 
I'm looking at major surgery with a modest chance of dying later this month. Since "is it soup yet?" is forbidden, I just posted that in case I should keep an eye out for it soon. I doubt I'll live long enough (and I think I'll get through the surgery, much more likely than not or I wouldn't do it) to see this film in any case. But, if I were still on this side of the dirt and it came out, I would want to try to see it. And FYI, The Tressaurian Intersection, as of this writing, has had over 580,000 views, more than the highest estimated average for episodes of Star Trek Discovery. So, good work folks, even if you think that's not enough, it's a nice number. Granted, Star Trek Horizon has soared over 9 million views.

For anyone curious, Star Trek Reviewed is now run by 6 people, Including me, that's 2 in North America, one in South America, one in Europe, one in Asia (ok, China) and one in Australia. So no, it will not disappear when I do. At least that's the plan!

Thanks to all, but let's not let me hijack this thread. I was trying to be subtle and explained myself only because my reasons were misconstrued.
 
Clarity of word and thought on the interwebs is a good thing. Plus wishing well to our fellow forum members. :)

Back on track, I really want to see this project come to its fruition. Yes, it's WELL overdue (;)), but it deserves to see light. It will probably seem odd with 80s footage and more modern VFX, but it has such a history behind it now, that good or bad, lets see what we get. :)

As far as I understand the modern VFX has been created to look and feel appropriate alongside the 80's footage.

Not taking ANYTHING away from The Tressaurian Intersection folks, but I think your Discovery numbers are off........
