That sounds like they went about things the right way this year. From a spectacle perspective there was really no way they were going to be able outdo Invasion and Crisis on Earth X without going to a full on big budget movie, so taking things down a few notches and focusing on the characters seems like a good way to go.

Especially given the nature of this particular storyline. The previous two mega-crossovers just focused on the established heroes (or their doppelgangers) and gave them enemies to team up against (although Crisis did introduce The Ray, but in a supporting role), but this crossover is both backdoor-piloting Batwoman and giving Superman a major focus. So it makes sense to slim it down to just Ollie, Barry, and Kara so there's room for a significant focus on the other two.

I like it, but I'd like it better if he had said six characters, and included Lois Lane as a central player. The introduction of the Arrowverse Lois is a big deal in my world (much bigger than Batwoman, truth be told), and I hope she isn't relegated to a glorified cameo role.

I think they said she'll be in all three episodes too.

Well, I'm disappointed that they're lowering the cast size. I watch all parts of the crossovers even when I don't watch all of the shows, and I was looking forward to seeing some characters who are unfortunately stuck in shit shows that are unwatchable outside of the crossover (Mick Rory being my #1 most wanted to see character). Well, I guess I'll get to see Oliver again, which is nice because he's been gone for me since season 6 of Arrow ended. I don't particularly care for the Batwoman they have (the costume is pretty cheap, but far from the worst in the Arrowverse), but more Superman should be interesting.

So Superman meets Batwoman and all of a sudden starts dressing in black just like her... ;)

Whoa. Maybe connected to that whole "Elseworlds" thing.

I'd think maybe this was a clue that they were going to do a "Death of Superman" arc on Supergirl, but there's no Super-Mullet.

Matching boots for Flash and Arrow? Both seem to have some sort of chain on their left hip? Hm.....

Superman the only professional there as he’s in costume. :)

That does hint at some very interesting possibilities. That fact that Grant Gustin and Steven Amell are wearing matching pants and boots makes me think the jackets could be covering up something spoilery.

Yup, I noticed that too, posted it above. It's kinda weird. They both also seem to have some sort of chain on their left hip. And the outfits don't seem like anything either character would normally wear.

The "chains" look more to me like plastic coils, like for a security guard's keys or something. Maybe Barry and Oliver are in disguise as guards. Or maybe it's an alternate world where they're soldiers.

Didn't Superman wear a black costume after his resurrection post doomsday fight?

Could it be a reference to those events?

That is what that costume is generally associated with, yes. Though it's possible they're using it some other way in the show.

It generally represents his Kryptonian ancestry. Often when dressed that way he is embracing being Kal-El for one reason or another. Currently he is on Argo City. It could be connected to that.
