"5 Reasons Kathleen Kennedy Needs To Step Down From Lucasfilm" By John Campea

She's produced the most financially successful films of all time on a consistent basis for her entire career.

There's an old saying, success has a thousand fathers but failure is an orphan.

Kathleen Kennedy is associated with many past successes. How much of that is a direct result of her input is an open debate. Even George Lucas was given too much credit for the good things in Star Wars as the prequels (absent most of his old collaborators) taught us. If you want to point to a critical (unsung) female figure responsible for the good parts of Star Wars, look at Marcia Lucas.

I'm just not very quick to high-five people for their work in Hollywood as I feel there's far too much surfing on other people's coat-tails .

And yet they have made a massive profit based on her work here, with films that were critically acclaimed and loved by audiences. In both business and artistic terms her tenure has been a massive success.

Of course they are going to keep her on.

Solo lost money, which takes some doing with a franchise like this.

Which clearly the business brains behind Disney, with their marginally better understanding of these things than you, seem to understand wasn't actually her doing.

The only even remotely viable case for linking her to solo's performance (the alleged negative reaction to TLJ) has now been demonstrated to have been artificially interfered with by outside parties, leaving...what?

She has consistently made money during her career, including whilst heading up SW, in fact some of the biggest grossing films of all time have been under her Disney tenure and she has turned them exactly the sort of astronomical profits they want and expect.

As you've already seen, no one cares what fans think in that regard.

Disney happens to think she has had a great deal to do with Star Wars success under their ownership, which is why they signed an extension with her. Nobody else in this particular scenario matters.

Belly-aching fans are going to have to wait til 2021 now, to start again predicting she'll be fired by "the end of the year".

Now that’s not to say that Solo wasn’t an embarrassing miss, or that folks like me hadn’t spent the last four years making like John McLane frantically waving the fire torches in the air hoping to prevent the plane from crashing. But that film was actually an in-development project from before Disney bought Lucasfilm and was explicitly greenlit by Bob Iger.

It is amazing the things people will ignore to prop up their crazy conspiracy theories.

You don’t seem to understand how movies are made or a business works. And Gary Kurtz who produced A New Hope and Empire seems to have been a greater influence, mainly driving Lucas away from his weirder ideas. Marcia fixed a lot of the dialogue, especially in A New Hope.

Yes!!!!!

Star Wars Live-Action TV Show Gets Titled The Mandalorian, Plot Revealed

Curious how this will be pulled off because in TCW series the Mandolorian homeworld had turn into a peaceful people who wanted to leave their warrior days behind them.

Can't wait to see this.

Not sure what this has to do with the thread?

Would've preferred a white male tbh

Just feel a white dude would do a better job is all

That had Kennedy's sausage fingers all over it and you know it

Is this satire? I can't tell if this is satire.

It's a decision that she greenlighted so I'm going to give her props for that. :nyah:
Besides, Kennedy isn't stepping down and she was just given an extension. So the thread title has pretty much run it's course.

I've got to middle age and still not seen that thing!
I have and it is the single biggest mass of WTFery I have ever seen in my life. We have whole scenes in nothing but the Wookie language without any kind of subtitles, Harvey Korman as a female four armed chef, and Bea Arthur singing to the patrons of the Mos Eisley cantina. I think I watched whole thing either shaking my head, or with my jaw hanging open in disbelief.
Wow, you means someone who does a good job overall will get to keep their job?! That is shocking!

and Bea Arthur singing to the patrons of the Mos Eisley cantina.
The one redeemable part of that monstrosity.

Unacceptable! This will not stand for people doing good jobs and receiving credit for it! I demand a recount! As a fan I must have some say in this matter!!!! :brickwall:

;)

Disney probably just saw Solo as a slight bump in the road. They have patents for audio-animatronics that use machine learning so they’ll respond to anything like the character they’re designed to be. They have a VR attraction that’s getting moving platforms combined with specially designed boots that make you feel like your own different terrain or lower gravity on alien planets. A theme park so devoted to being “in-universe” that they won’t sell t-shirts because people don’t wear them in Star Wars. It’s glorious madness.

John Campea, one of the biggest apologists and shills for Kathleen Kennedy, who has had quite a following since his AMC/Collider days online...... now discusses the 5 reasons Kathleen Kennedy needs to Step Down from Lucasfilm.

It was just yesterday that Jeremy Jahns addressed the significant state of divisiveness among the fanbase, due to the poor decision making of Kathleen, and her poor interactions with the fanbase.

Collider also predicted yesterday that she would announce her stepping down next year. Do you think it's going to happen? Do you think it should happen?

Discuss below.

And that's why those guys will always be on YouTube...………..

That is both awesome, and a little bit scary.
