Series 11 News & Spoilers

Wow, all the reviews make it sound very promising. For those worried about spoilers, the reviews don't actually give away the plot but describe how well the various parts work. There is some information about the backstories of the companions (I'm not going to call them friends). They all give Whittaker glowing reviews in her performance. The alien story doesn't fare as well but it's not bad--but the reviews don't describe it in detail at all. It sounds like the time in the story that it takes to introduce the characters detracts from the alien story--much like in Rose. Visually, all the reviews say DW has never looked better.

I was already looking forward to it, and even more so now!

Children in Need is typically mid-November. I wouldn't expect them to do a preview for the Christmas special this year, though. They didn't in 2013, previewing Day of the Doctor instead. Likewise, in 2015 they previewed the next week's episode instead of the Christmas special, which will likely be the case this year as well.

Probably 23rd November. Could be a mini-episode, but as nothing's been announced we'll presumably only hear about it in the CiN PR. Could be something involving the cast (eg: Bradley Walsh hosting a spoof edition of The Chase, etc).

Until Michael Grade changed it to 30 minute blocks in 1985, the standard B BC1 weeknight schedule was 6pm Nationwide, 6.55 25 minute drama, 7.20 & 8.10 50 minute dramas or documentaries (or a 100 minute film), 9pm news, 9.30pm another 50 minute drama or documentary.
Weekends still have the irregular pattern (so Casualty on Saturday is 50m, but its Tuesday spin-off Holby City is 60m).

That's how it proably should be when your adding all new characters.

Yeah I don't even bother with review sites. I just pick what I might like based on trailers or a minimum of advertising. I'd like to make up my own mind and not listen to paid critics.

Plus I have a very large brain :D
 
So she doesn't remember she's The Doctor, but she remembers being Peter Capaldi. Regeneration sickness is getting really plot convenient, especially for something that only seems to happen about half the time.

Well you can have someone with fragmented memories were they recall moments in their past, if not exact details. I mean it is plot convenient but everything in a plot is convenient and has to happen in order to tell a story. All fiction revolves around characters often encountering the most amazing luck ever. That is why it's called fiction and not real life.

Well, like I've said before, the story could easily be how she is totally fine after regeneration and has memory of everything right from the start, just like pretty much every other NuWho Doctor except 12. So, I'm going to keep giving the show shit about this. Wasting 45 minutes on "The Doctor has amnesia" is borderline offensive when the show has so few episodes and has less and less every year. It would still be lame if the show had more episodes, but its wasting everyone's time at this point.

Unless of course they make the amnesia story work. Many tried and true idea's are used several times and it's often less about how old a idea is but what new slant the writers put on it. Amnesia stories are not anymore a waste of time than anything else that might be a cliche which is basically every story made today. Anything you watch you can find something similiar elsewhere. You only have so many different ways to tell a story and they have all been done, many times over at this point.

10: Not amnesiac, instead comatose for 3/4ths of his first story.
11: Perfectly fine.
12: Memory loss in his first story.

So if we don't limit to "memory loss" but widen to "post-regeneration trauma" the best we can say is half, but realistically all we can say with certainty is 1 out of 4.

11 May have known he was the Doctor, but he didn't know what kind of food he likes.
 
You would think the Doctor would've slightly gotten used to regeneration by now. I mean, he is past his original cycle, by any measure.
 
Other than the Breaking the Ceiling trailer, I'm really looking forward to the new season. Unfortunately I will be traveling when it starts (And I think San Francisco is getting a 3 hour delay anyway, which sucks), but I hope there is a sense of freshness to the new series that I have felt was lacking in the last few years. I'm going in with an open mind.

I would like to file a complaint. They should never have posted this clip. Because now I can't stop watching it. My favourite Doctor Who moment right now. :wah: :guffaw:
 
I have a question. Timelords according to canon are suppose to only live 12 lives or is that wrong? She is suppose to be breaking that cycle for a reason I can't recall. Basically doesn't this mean that this would not be a normal regeneration but a kind of physical change/regeneration unlike all the rest?. Maybe the Doctor was never suppose to be a women for whatever genetic reasons but once he/she moved past their 12 lives it sort of changed things where he/she can now be both genders. A kind of added feature that he use to not be able to do but now can.
