Um I'm guessing this has already been said (I know I'm late to this thread) but the news doesn't confirm a return to TNG. Just that Stewart is going to reprise his role as Picard in a series based within Star Trek. That doesn't mean that a cast member from TNG won't return (this is likely) but this is not a TNG revisit.

Yeah, the title of this thread is wildly misleading and should probably be changed to "Picard Returns!"

Frakes will show up somehow. He is always around when a new Trek show pops up. In fact he might have been in that room with the picture of Stewart and the writers. Someone had to be holding the phone or camera to take that pic.

There is a perfect role for Frakes in the new Picard series. Frakes would be a natural for the role of a Ferengi.
