Stage 9 project - gone?

What a shame. I hope this means that a CBS licensee will make an official product along the lines of Stage 9--I'd gladly pay for it. It amazes me that even the YouTube videos had to come down when a certain other fan project that was actually sued by CBS for raising money off Star Trek IP got to leave theirs up.

Okey, we can finally talk about this...

On Wednesday 12th Sep we received a Cease and Desist from CBS requiring us to cease development. We made every effort to approach them to discuss modifying the project to meet their criteria, but they are refusing to even discuss the matter. We'll be making a longer statement on Discord shortly. We hope you enjoyed Stage 9 while it lasted!

From all the team, Live long and prosper.
Damn, sorry to hear about this. :(

I guess we'll just have to settle for Snuggies patterned after TNG uniforms and an endless stream of Funko Pop action figures. Fucking CBS...they really don't get what the fandom wants, do they?

Wow... I'm starting to sound like Alec Peters.

Are any members of the Stage 9 team planning on working on some other project? If not, are they open to suggestions? ;)

CBS' response/lack of response to shitcanning Stage 9 is quite perplexing. They were quite informative when dealing with fanfilms, so why is this one suddenly calling for a different approach?

Also, dear lord, a FFF interview is gonna be a one-way ticket to aggrandizing Alec Peters & his Axacult. Please don't do it.

@Firebird I must admit that we're pretty ignorant of what's going on in the fan film space, can you care to elaborate on how that FFF interview would be a bad idea?

The main problem is not that they didn't explain publicly, but rather that they were uninterested in dealing with us privately in any shape or form. We made it abundantly clear to them that we were willing to change absolutely anything about the project they deemed necessary, including the ship or even the name of the project, but they only wanted us to end any and all development at once, with no chance of negotiation.

It's a shame, but it's their right.
