MLB World Series 2018: Eh. Dodgers/Boston. Eh.

Considering the restructuring of the playoffs, most recently with the second wild card (which I still don't like) and more and more interleague games, I wouldn't be surprised if the Major League is heading in that direction. The division structures are becoming more meaningless these days.

As for new teams, I will continue to rally the call for North Carolina even though I know it won't happen because of the large Minor League presence. Alas.

^The Triangle would be a great place for a team, as the Braves and Nationals are in completely different markets. I wish Indianapolis could have a team, but it won’t happen with the Cubs, White Sox and Reds so close by.

I watched Saturday's and Sunday's Cubs White Sox games with the White Sox feed.

Stoney and Hawk were less annoying than I remember. Maybe Hawk mellowed in his later days or something.

Harrelson sure did get emotional after his "last 7th inning stretch". He wasn't my kind of broadcaster (also not a White Sox fan), but he was old school and there aren't very many real baseball guys left in the booth, anywhere.

I agree I would go down to 4 divisions before I eliminated AL and NL.

But AL is turning into NBA West and it’s a little silly that the Red Sox, Astros and Yankees are all in same half and that the league’s third and fourth best teams have to do a one game playoff, the winner of which faces the best team in the round of 8.

Loud and drunk?

I never minded that. Harry had fun while broadcasting, and he wanted fans to have fun listening to him. My problems as far as Cubs broadcasters are concerned were Thom Brenneman, who thinks he knows everything about baseball, and Ron Santo, who always sounded like he was having an orgasm on the air.

Yeah, Brenneman was annoying as hell. Ronnie, he was 100% over-the-top Cub.

Speaking of Santo, 20 years ago yesterday this happened.

Fuck you, Brant Brown.

... and on the Yankee injury front.... Aaron Hicks pulls a hammy last night. We might have to call up the entire team from Columbus for the play-offs. :brickwall:

According to Ken Rosenthal, MLB did not place Addison Russell on administrative leave solely because of his ex-wife's blog post, but due to interviews with Reidy-Russell, other witnesses and other information gathering (likely text messages / emails). Apparently it's bad enough that Russell, Boras and the MLBPA have decided not to exercise their right to an emergency hearing to appeal the suspension.
