But what does "Mesopotamia" sound like with that accent? I thought "brilliant" was "Berlin" the first few times I heard it

Not really. While the pop music in the adds have been bad does anyone think they will really be using that stuff in any episodes? Somehow I don't see the Doctor rocking out to that kind of music. Maybe one of the new characters will like it but I really don't think it's going to be anything bigger than maybe Amy Pound using Twitter or something like that. At least that's my hope. I want the show still have a timeless feel to it so it's not so ovious years later what year the show was being made.

Ratings don't differentiate between joyful watching, watching and hate watching. They only record eyeballs. More eyeballs, more support. More support, more things just like the thing you are watching without "supporting it."
I would never have guessed. But, I'm glad to hear that. I would love to read more of that.
Troughton's most certainly did. In fact that Doctor suffered from it for their entire tenure. That's why they had to use Hartnell's 500 year diary as a guide book.
When the actor change over was originally devised memory loss was one of things the character was suppose to suffer from. It's not out right stated but it's pretty much spelled out in the scene you're referring to. Two asks if the Doctor had a dairy and after they find it they use it as a guide book (because they no longer have memories of those events) from that point onward.
That's not exactly what I meant.
They are using a different screen ratio this season.Loving the new trailer and is Doctor Who being filmed in a different way by the BBC now? it looks all shiny and almost cinematic in it's approach from the looks of the trailerand it looks awesome.
I know what you meant. But ratings don’t separate motives for watching. You watch, they’re happy, regardless if you are.
I doubt they'd be happy,
but I can't hint any harder about what I actually mean by not supporting them (even though I will be watching), so even though I still don't think you get what I mean, I'll drop it.
Besides, I'm an American, so its actually BBC America that won't be getting support from my viewing, or any money because I won't be buying any of the DVDs, etc.
Oh, you're downloading it or watching it illegally. That's what you're trying to say?
Classy.
No, I'm not saying that. I'm not doing that, and I certainly wouldn't say that. I definitely meant that I'd DVR it and fast forward through the commercials. That is legal, and doesn't give them the support they want. Anything else is wrong and not something anyone would admit to on a site where its not allowed to be mentioned.
They're also taking into consideration the theatrical screenings of episodes that are becoming so in vogue. 2:1 is considered more "theatre friendly."So now we have to go out an buy 2:1 ratio TVs this season?!
Honest question though - is this a trend? TV has been 16:9 for some time now, but before that the 4:3 ratio was king for decades. The older one was more a product of the technological limitations of the time - but one wonders if 2:1 is heralding the next standard, or that Chibnall simply wants EVERYONE to have black bars on their Who. :P
EDIT: Okay, I've read up on it (and the corresponding aspect ration debate). I had no idea that the debates are more over the cinematic look and ability to show and tell things any more than the technical compromises of the movie screen or even the TV showing the content. Looks like 2:1 is a "compromise" ratio that some people want to adopt. The final season of Broadchruch was in 2:1 too, meaning Chibnall has used it and seems to like it for his storytelling.

Actually, no. They take into account DVR viewings now.
[BBCAmerica] Thanks for your support! [/BBCAmerica]
But, sure... you aren't downloading illegally, wink wink.
But does it matter if you don't watch the ads? If a view doesn;t give them any profit, isn't that a useless view to them?
Also, of course I don't. You won't see me acting like one of those rapscallions of the internet. Between Weird Al's song about it and South Park's episode about it, everyone knows that downloading things is wrong.
A view is a view.
That’s right. You would never download illegally—wink wink. Because, even though it’s Doctor Who in name only—you wouldn’t want to support illegally and threaten people’s livelihoods, especially the people below the line.
More on topic, I wonder if this Doctor Who hiatus will last 16 years like the last one did. I wish they'd just officially cancel it until the next return, this indefinite hiatus stuff is just stupid. I wonder if we'll get a Dimensions in Time style thing while the show is on hiatus, or if noncanon stuff like Big Finish and the comics are the only Doctor Who stuff thats going to be released while the show is off the air. If they're going to copy the last hiatus, I could go for another US made TV movie, if the writing was a bit better (and we get to see Capaldi regenerate in it of course, wouldn't want to leave his regeneration to a web video like McGann's). Maybe we could even get a female Doctor.
Yup, I've given up engaging now. Role on October 7th cos I'm looking forward to itBoring attempt at trolling.
