Will you be re-subscribing CBS All Access?

I like DISCOVERY...,
Just not enough to actually pay extra for it. (beyond the cost of my Internet service with SPECTRUM)

If I can pay 9.50 to see a shitty 2-hour movie with a cookie-cutter plot, sit in an uncomfortable seat, watch 15 mins of commercials and previews, drive to-and-from the theater for the mediocre experience, and be over-charged for snacks and beverages to an absurd level...I have no problem whatsoever paying the same amount for a show I enjoy that I can watch in my own home whenever I choose as many times as I want.

To me, that's the easiest purchase decision I've ever made.

I'm guessing the show doesn't have much rewatch value?

It really doesn't. I went back and watched a handful of episodes a second time, but beyond that there's no desire to sit through the rest of them again.

I bailed six episodes in. It was the only thing I watched on CBSAA, and a lot of the content is available on other services. Personally, I would resubscribe for the new Twilight Zone before I'd do it for DISCO.

Also, I'm noticing a fair number of people cancelled CBSAA after the season finale, seemingly immediately after. I'm guessing the show doesn't have much rewatch value?

I might watch the Mudd episode again, once I have All Access, but that's about it.

Well, it's not a complex formula. If you liked it, you'll rewatch it. If you didn't...of course you won't.

I don't really see what this proves.

I liked it. Re-watched it 3 times all the way through. Seems re-watchable enough to me. I'm still trying to re-watch VOY and TNG. It's taking me 3 years because I just can't get through the mud.

I have kept CBSAA, watching Mission Impossible, Twilight Zone, Odd Couple, Hawaii 5-0, and I Love Lucy. Safe in the knowledge that I kind of "own" Discovery, which I have re-watched some episodes after the initial run. $9.99 a month for the commercial free version is still less than one dinner out to eat. No biggie, and the Short Treks are about to commence.
I spent a lot more money back in the day buying VHS tapes to record all the Star Trek shows. Then $100 a season to own them on DVD, then upgrading to BlueRay. All the whining about having to 'pay' for ST is b.s. in my book.

I still haven't gotten around to watching the final three episodes. Though I find "Context is for Kings" and "Magic..." both good enough to rewatch. The rest is just plain dull.

I also don't have Cable and I don't go to the movies anymore due to their increased cost.
I can afford the Internet Service & Basic Netflix (USA).
Most of the rest of my paycheck goes to the Mortgage, House/Car/Health Insurances, Gas and Food.
My one luxury item per month at the moment, is an Eagle-moss Discovery Ship Subscription.
And even that is iffy on a month to month basis.

I never unsubscribed.

As far as re-watchability: I've seen every episode at least three or four times. It's part of why I kept the subscription. The other being to see what I can comb through in the old-show catalog they have.

(Side note: I basically got season 1 for free due to a CBS All Access gift card aa a birthday gift. Knowing the person who got it the first time, I'll likely get it for Christmas. Awesome people For The Win!)

I hope they gave it to you knowing you would use it to watch Star Trek. Otherwise it seems way to weird. If I want a gift card, give me amazon gift card, it’s practically cash. If a friend were to give me say, a red lobster gift card, I’d have one less friend.

The only episode I rewatched was the first one (the one on free CBS) and only so that my SO caught up. Haven’t seen anything from STD after season finale.

Since the finale of STD, I have rewatched All Good Things, Inner Light, Best of Both Worlds, Parallels, that DS9 episode where they landed in Roswell, VOY Year of Hell and finale episode, and ENT mirror universe episodes. Also TMP, TWOK, TVH, TUC, Gen, FC, ST09 (twice), STID, STB (twice).
But nothing from STD.

They did know.

The blu rays have both the remastered and originals. It’s not like they’ve gone away.

I actually technically subscribe now because I wanted to give Strange Angel a try, but forgot I subscribed until I saw this thread. It hasn't been my month.

I imagine that I will subscribe for the premiere of season 2 if I'm not all ready currently subscribed at the time. Although depending on how well it's clicking for me after a couple of episodes and it be becomes clear that this is something I can wait for, I could see myself cancelling and waiting for all the episodes to be released and then binge them. That's if I remember to cancel. Man, the way my brain has been functioning IRL lately, I'm not sure...

I'll definitely reup when Season Two comes along, if not before. Haven't made up my mind about reupping early for the Short Treks yet. Probably depends on my schedule.

I forgot to unsubscribe and now with the short episodes around the corner, I will be staying. Did you save money paying annually?
