    Who will survive Fear?

Obviously Dorrey -- he helps bring some positivity..

Also Aaron Stanford's of course will start a beer industry (or somehow teach someone along the way and then die)

Al's character will be the way to wrap it up...with survivor's stories...and as they talk we will see flashbacks of past characters

Alicia - just so we have someone for the very 1st season (unless we get Daniel back...what happened to him again????)

Charlie will be eaten or something...she's gonna get too old ...

And Tobias will return -- just cuz fans had asked for him but never got him....

Daniel was last seen at the stand-off at the dam that served as the climax to the season 3 finale and is the only series regular involved in that not to have their fate addressed. Nothing's been said about him in the show. The new showrunners insist he's still alive, but that's the closest thing to an explanation we've gotten. The only thing we've heard from the actors is a denial that Reuben Blades was on set at all for season 4.

I'm not going to lie, I've really enjoyed these past few episodes. It's a nice change of pace that our characters are starting to meet positive people in the world, showing that not everybody is evil moustache twirlers. Sure, the two truckers that jacked old dude's semi were misguided, but they've seen the error of their ways and are starting to help people as well.

    Probably three characters at most.

...but in WD tradition, positive characters often meet their end still trying to turn others around--just ask Dale, T-Dog, Hershel, Bob, Beth and Tyreese. If the showrunners subvert the tradition, it would be a surprise.

..or she will die, with someone finally playing her own tapes / telling her full story.

In theory, Alicia should survive, but one of the stronger series devices of the WD-TV universe is that "foundation" characters are starting to lost plot/fan support armor. On The Walking Dead, Rick, Daryl and Carol are the only season one characters left, and as of the midpoint of the forthcoming season, that will be cut down to two. So, Alicia will survive, but it does not protect her from the chopping block somewhere down the line. Her theorized fate only changes if Alicia gains more experience as a leader / stepping in at some critical point if FTWD merges with TWD, so she might fill the void left by departing WD long-timers.

I hope not. The idea of children not surviving has been worn out in this franchise. Sure, Enid and Judith are still around, but more have bitten the dust than last more than a season.

Why? He was just some kid who (by suggestion more than anything else) experienced the ZA a bit earlier than the Clark family, but he's not Morgan (a character with a strong background and development out of the gates).

Children have to die in "Walking Dead" because of the puberty monster. Makes them to old looking when time is moving at a more compressed time. It's okay with babies because you can just switch them out and who would notice. Maggie's baby could be played by the "American Sniper" baby doll for two years and not many people would notice.

I would. That was a great movie, but the baby doll thing was totally noticeable and patently stupid. A CG infant would have been an order of magnitude better.

    Fear the Walking Dead--
    "MM54"

With only two episodes left in season 4, I'm hoping whoever is left finally hits the highway to Virginia, as this wandering around (and the annoying "Martha" character") is starting to become a bore.

Jim: his fate was pretty predictable, as he was the only character not stepping up to fight, so naturally, when he's forced to--he loses.

Althea: Shut herself off in the generator room (floor), but I doubt this is the end of her. Her obsession with everyone else's stories is getting to be be too much, since no one thinking their shelter was a moment away from being compromised would still play 20 Questions with anyone else, not to mention someone particularly at risk such as Wendell.

Alicia and Charlie: So they never made the beach on the map, but there's always beaches in Virginia...and with the preview showing the duo meeting up with Morgan's group, one would hope that means they're closer to refueling the overall series plot (with no more flashbacks/forward).but in WD fashion, someone has to be sacrificed before season's end. I doubt Morgan would be on that list, so it might be a character who has outlived their usefulness to the plot or no longer has a story of their own. In a way, that points to Luciana who is sort of just there after Nick's death. The showrunners dropped the ball with her after her debut season. She was a stronger, interesting character as time moved along, but she's now just a survivor who was connected to one of the Clarks, and not much else.

We know about children "aging out" of their roles, but if the characters are important enough (as Carl was up to a point), then move the timeline along, and not have--for example--half a season only amount to 10 minutes or real world time. Its better to keep important and/or interesting child characters around than killing them off in favor of slowly grinding away at season arcs (e.g. Negan / All Out War).

So, a slight uptick in FTWD TV ratings. The show had it's last big drop between Episode 11 (The Code) and Episode 12 (Weak). Since Weak, the last 2 have gone up with MM 54 hitting 1.87. This is the most watched episode since Episode 9. Perhaps fans are tuning in, now that the show has pivoted back to being survival horror?

EDIT - the only other show I know that had this kind of drop between the first episode and the following season without being in danger of cancellation is Supergirl, and that involved a change in networks...

So, is Charlie going to be the new Carl? She's picked up John Dorie (a cop)'s hat and is now wearing it around. If the show does fold into the cast of The Walking Dead in the next couple of years, I could see her picking up the Carl role in relation to The Whisperers.

One would hope a child would make it past the coming time jump; so far, child characters' survival rate has been pretty bad.

Unfortunately, this will never happen, but the best plot twist right now would be if the Beer Guy survives his Zombie bite because his microbrew is a cure for the virus. :rommie:

The Beer guy does make me wonder about something. Can Zombies get drunk? Maybe he saves the day by getting them all smashed and when they are all dizzy and bumping into things they escape the roof.

Probably not on Walking Dead, but there was an episode of Z Nation with stoned Zombies.

Not easily. I was thinking it would have been smarter to throw a desk or two down that narrow, switchbacked stairwell rather than try to block the door-- they never would have gotten up.

I wonder why so few zombie productions ever have characters do that; zombies would claw and swing arms at furniture in a stairwell, but never have the sense to move it. At best, they might pile up to the point where the zombies on top would just roll / fall over the barricade, but even that's a stretch. After a time, they might turn around and stumble down the steps looking for other food options.

I've just started watching season one and so far after 6 episodes the characters are at best pathologically selfish and at worst horrible people. Any person who shows an ounce of compassion for anyone outside their family unit is punished and proved to be wrong to ever give a shit.

Our 'heroes' just left the gate open for their unsuspecting neighbours before releasing a horde of zombies on a hospital, which ultimately killed one of the people they were looking for. The heroic soldiers threatened a pensioner and sexually assaulted a teenager, while the doctor wisely chose suicide over one more minute in the presence of these truly awful people.

If America breeds these people as heroic protagonists then that country is in serious trouble and I can see why ratifying the convention on human rights must seem so terrifying to their nation.

At the moment, I can see no reason to keep watching unless the current cast all die soon. So my question for people who stuck it out until the latest season is does the show end up with any characters that are not brutal and selfish? This is already getting worse than the 100.

I would say skip to the current season 4... You will find a couple you can root for.

They really wasted the concept and basically dumped it to catch up with the parent show

They might roll over or push through it if it were in a hallway, but going uphill in a narrow stairwell they'd be stuck forever.
