So.... this will get pushed back to 2021 or 2022?
By then Marvel will be experiencing major "franchise fatigue" and GotG 3 will be the "revival" film everyone is looking for.... so Disney wins!

    Marsden is very sad.
I think they might find a new director, named Jim Pistol, by then, and he acts as if he's known the films so well, it's like he's made two of them already.

After doing some internet sleuthing, I think I found a picture of Jim Pistol

He looks like a nice man, and I have never seen his face in my life

They’d be better off with the little known but promising Jacques Pistolet, from Lyon.

Is there anything like the Alan Smithee credit, for when a studio doesn't want to use a director's real name?;)

My understanding (I could be wrong, of course) is that Smithee is invoked by a director who doesn’t want to be associated with the final film rather than the reverse.

I don't think hiring someone with a porn mustache is in Disney's future.

I understand that, that was why I said something like the Alan Smithee credit, only for this situation instead.

Ok. It's just that Alan Smithee is an obscure thing (and one I discovered only relatively recently while doing research into films related to my teaching), so was just adding an FYI. Was more a general comment than one aimed at you. Apologies.

I see the winky, but the serious answer would be that I doubt that the DGA would allow it.

That's too bad. I was hoping it would not be delayed that long. I assumed that Avengers 4 you set up GOTG Vol 3 but I guess not if the wait is that long.

Derailing Marvel... Surely this is a plot to boost DC?

    Nothing official.

Just a crackpot with a dream where there's a half decent Justice league movie out there for him.

Ouch! Forgotten already? You were just down ther
He spent the entirety of his screentime flipping sides and betraying everyone in the room at some point! The main reason he was killed was because he was doing it to someone who didn't find it cute or endearing.

I'm convinced that the Hiddleston version of Loki is done. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Loki reincarnated as a woman or something a few years down the line.

That's more of an old-west Doc Holiday mustache rather than a porn'stache.

He spent the entirety of his early movies doing that. The entire point of the ending of Thor Ragnarok is that he finally decided to be a part of his people/family rather then spend all his time trying to rule it. And when IW appeared to show him flipping sides again, it pretty much immediately used it to underscore that point from Rangarok by revealing that he really wasn't even considering switching sides, he was just using that as bait to try to kill Thanos.

But I agree a reincarnated version somewhere down the line isn't out of the question. Reincarnation tends to reset the characterization button anyway.
