Series 11 News & Spoilers

I stand corrected- BBC just officially announced Sunday October 7th for the premiere!
Just saw the official announcement.

Glad we have a date but my Sunday nights are never free which is annoying for me.

I will be watching it on Mondays.

Sunday’s huh. I heard it was the new Saturday, but this also starts to remind me of the eighties and the dancing round the schedule starting with Davison. Hunter down everyone, fanfic writers sharpen your quills, there’s another Wilderness years coming, old sailors will feel it in their bones...

I think the only question is whether its on before or after the Strictly results show? Could work either way I guess.

Gonna be a bugger here. Monday morning. Hopefully iView will have the episodes shortly after, and then the ABC broadcasts them the following weekend.

They're setting themselves up for massive ratings failure here, just launching the series out of nowhere unannounced and virtually unpromoted. Are they really that afraid of what ITV might come up with to counter? Guarantee you in the States, whatever else is on that night, the fans will clear space for the premiere - if they know it's coming.

Space in Canada ran a promo during Killjoys on Friday but at the point it simply said "coming soon".

More chance of me catching it live than there was on Saturday:). At least we now have a firm date.

I might get to live chat with you guys on October 7th. BBC America is airing the premiere at the same time as the BBC, so that is what, noon, San Francisco Time? Of course it's during football but maybe I can miss an hour for new live Doctor Who.

Maybe it is a blessing in disguise that Discovery doesn't come back until next year. Of course having Doctor Who and Discovery on the same night would be awesome.

from what I've seen of NFL, you could watch an hour of Doctor Who and only miss about 5 minutes of actual play in the football :p

Sunday is a great move- that evening is more varied than saturday's schedule, with less devotion to light entertainment and game shows. And, more importantly, it means a solid regular timeslot that doesn't change every week along with Strictly's variable runtime.

So, looking ahead some more, let's talk about Nu-Target Wave 2 (and there will be one, no way the fans are letting it stop at five books). Which titles would you like to see adapted next? My picks would be:
...
...
...
The Woman Who Fell to Earth
(or whatever Thirteen's debut gets called)

I CALLED IT!!! That second quote was May 18th, in the 'Doctor Who books' thread!! :luvlove::biggrin:

Weren't several of the fan-made credit sequence videos on YouTube using The Woman Who Fell to the Earth as their placeholder titles for the premiere?

At least two of them did that I saw. Guess it was just that obvious a title given how the Christmas special ended.

I do wonder how it's going to air given it's 50 minutes now? Historically the Strictly results show has run 7.15-8.00, not sure how the Beeb will schedule Who if that doesn't change. Can't see it being on 8-8.50 as they'll want something else to start at nine, so maybe we are looking at it filling the Countryfile slot and start at 6.25?

Sunday, interesting, so i have not watched UK terriestrial TV in over 3 years, so what is so big about Sunday night now on the BBC that they have moved Who to it?
