I figured, if the new Spider-Man movie can have its own thread with a release two months after Avengers 4, we should make a thread for the new Avengers movie.

Reshoots are done, they announced a few weeks ago they're already into editing and postproduction. Probably one of the most anticipated sequels from Marvel ever, I guess it's kind of a no-brainer The Snap will somehow be undone. It's not a question of if, but how.

And ofcourse, what about non-Snap fatalities? Loki? Heimdall? Gamora? The Russo's said not long after the release of IW, that the scene between Thanos and young Gamora at the end was inside the Soul Stone. Is her actual soul in the Stone now?

And what about the title? Rumors aplenty, most of them ideas from fans. Personally, I kinda like the idea of calling it Avengers: Assemble.

As far as non-Snap fatalities, I definitely think Gamora and Vision will be back, while the rest are dead-dead. I think Gamora is in the Soul Stone (I figured that was really her in the Soul Stone asking Thanos "Did you do it?... What did it cost?" right after the Snap) while Visions is now part of the Mind Stone and will be extracted some way into his grey body.

I think the undoing the Snap is really being over analyzed (peeps thinking Ant-Man quantum realm stuff/time travel will undo it). It will go down just like the comics... Nebula will get the Gauntlet after Thanos gets greedy during a Celestial battle, or something similar, and simply do the Reverse-Snap. There is no time travel in the comics, peeps simply pop back into reality in the present.

Well, time travel is a part. Behind the scenes shots have confirmed they reshot some Battle Of New York scenes, with Cap and Thor looking exactly like they did then, and Tony in the t-shirt he wore then. With Ant-Man in his suit there as well.

I bet they bounce around to a bunch of time periods (this may replace a Celestial battle or lead to it) and end up right back in the present where Nebula gets the Gauntlet. There is no way in hell they won't have Nebula get it. That part of the comic is as classic as the Snap and that is a beat they will not miss.

Oh that maybe quite right. Was just pointing out that time travel will be a part of it.

And as for Nebula and the Gauntlet.... The movies have departed from the comics as often as they've stayed true to them. I still hold to the theory that somehow Stark is the key. Not sure how or why, but Strange was adament about willing to sacrifice Stark and Peter. After seeing all possible futures and seeing only one positive outcome, he decides Stark should live. I'm asuming that was never in the comics?

Considering Nebula was spared from the snap, I will be very disappointed if she doesn't get the chance to briefly wield the Gauntlet. I don't need her to reverse the Snap per se, but the moment with her in control of it is an iconic one and I would be sad if we don't get to see it. Mind you, I'm a big Nebula and Karen Gillan fan, so I'm obviously biased.

You're right that it's not from the comics but I can see how that theory can tie in with Nebula wielding the Gauntlet.

With the rumors going around that part 4 will be set 5 years after IW, I could get a total kick out of Tony and Nebula having spend the last 5 years together trying to find a way to undo this, with Tony falling back into his old habits of doing everything he can do to safeguard the ones he loves. Without even checking to see if they might actually still be around on Earth. He just asumed the worst, and went for it. Speaking as someone who has anxietydisorder, and often lets fear control his actions..... That seems totally legit.

I agree. Stark will def play a big part. That's not a comic thing, but makes sense for the MCU. I think he'll live, or maybe they do a spin on the Onslaught ending.

    I must have Celestials

There is no Avengers 4. Infinity War was the final movie.

It seems to me that the most obvious reason for time travel would be to back and collect the stones to place in a second gauntlet, or some version of the stones. Who knows? the stones are celestial and could become some sort of time remnants (quoting from another series) in order to preserve the original timeline.

You would likely get a Nebula without bionics scene too

I'm not sure about the other pre-Snap deaths, but I think it's pretty likely that Gamora will come back and her and Nebula will play a big role in taking down Thanos once and for all. With the strong connection those two have to him, there's not way they won't be at least be partly responsible for his death/final defeat.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I think that by placing her in the Soul Stone, the Russo Brothers have set up Gamora to play the part in the movie that Adam Warlock played in the comics, specifically Thanos defeat in Marvel two-in-one annual 2.

I agree that that is the clue to Gamora coming back but it certainly seems that Adam Warlock will make an appearance in this film as he's already been set up.

Yeah, that whole set-up seems so clear that I would be shocked if Gamora doesn't serve that role in The Untitled Sequel.

I sure hope so. That would be a nice callback to what Thanos does to her in the comics.

Warlock was set up for Guardians 3. They're not going to introduce him in Avengers 4.

However, GotG 3 has now been pushed back indefinitely. That could free Feige to move up Warlock.
But, not likely as they did principal photography before the Gunn dustup and reshoots wouldn't be enough to adequately include him I'd think.

    Boo, no more beard. :(

At least we got it for Infinity War and he didn't shave it off partway through to indicate He's Back.
