Surely something good happened to you today

Probably a Dakota. (could have been the one from the The Battle of Britain Memorial flight).
It was something like that, though seemed somewhat curvier at the rear/underside.

I tried googling air events over Yorkshire but drew a blank.

I can't remember what my dad told me that the plane that flies over our house every now and again is. It's an early bomber...Korea or even WWII. LOUD as hell and sounds like it's about to fall out of the sky.

I live about eight blocks from a municipal airport. It's rare that we even get corporate jets, although we do get a lot of fancy cars driving through our humble neighborhood.

As a matter of fact, the first time I ever even heard of a Tesla SUV was on Amazon Prime's New Motoring Programme and the very next day I saw one driving toward me away from the airport. Until a few days ago I hadn't seen another.

Anyway, I really want that plane to go to a museum and stay there.

I always find that playing with a programme teaches you more tricks than the manual. Somehow learning by doing seems to root deeper in the memory than learning by reading.

A colleague brought me a few shells of freshly mummified mussels and snails (we have a horrible drought atm). When I determined the species I found that one snail was a first finding for my district. YAY! And my colleague says there are lots more who are still alive (double yay!)

@Gary Mitchell LOL great bellies think alike  Unfortunately, I am not sure aquatic snails are tasty. Plus these come from a very dirty and muddy stream.

@Australis Congratulations! I imagine having grandchildren is much nicer than having own children: no teething nights without sleep, no diapers to change etc. You just have them a few hours or days and then can recharge for the rest of the week.

@Leviathan for me it's

No good thing here yet - rather a Murphy day, in fact - but it's only 10:13 am :)

Thanks everyone. :)

This is exceedingly accurate. I play with my other grandkids (3, 2, 18mnths) and we have a blast, because I'm not responsible for them. :)

Absofragginglutely it did. Got home late, long day, late finish, and what a sight for sore eyes at the end of the drive. The sale board, is now a sold board!

Nothing has changed of course, we agreed the sale in July, but now it feels more real. Still about 6-10 weeks before we can move though,

Congrats, Butters ! :) It always feels so much more real when one has a tangible proof, doesn't it?

@Herbert that's amazing! Makes me wonder, though, at which (propably very early) age they started to get spinal problems.

Good thing today: it's Friday! YAY!
And the patchwork bedspread I am making for my sister-in-law is finally taking shape (after I unravelled it thrice!) Another 3-4 days and it's finished.

Opened my Friday morning mail and email...just bad stuff, but nothing horrible in there! In my new normal this is a win!

Screw it...time to Constanza!!

I though about it but I wanted to wait until I had something good to say.

this day appears to start good :) Couldn't sleep and got up at 5, found 2 good ones for the avatar contest, it drizzled all night (only 1 l/m² but that's better than nothing), and I rented a car for the weekend and shall go on a shopping and sightseeing tour after I've been to the market and had breakfast =)
And from the bakery in the basement comes a wonderful scent of freshly baked croissants
