So we are only a couple of weeks away from the 19th anniversary of the tragic loss of our beloved moon. After a respectful moment of silence, let's commemorate Earth's only natural satellite by holding an avatar contest with the theme of The Moon in SF&F.
Your entry can be any image from a movie, TV show, etc., that takes place on the moon, or in which the moon plays a significant role. Or it can be an image of the moon in any SF&F movie/show/etc, even if the story doesn't take place on the moon or the moon doesn't play a significant role. Pretty much anything moon-related. Note that the moon itself does not necessarily have to appear in your image.
And I'm going to make a special allowance for this contest to allow movies/shows/etc. that deal with the moon or travelling to the moon, even if they're more historical than SF. Think From the Earth to the Moon, and similar. As long as it's a fictionalized account (even if based on real events), rather than a straight documentary, then we're good!
Standard avatar rules apply: maximum size of 200 x 200 pixels, and 1 MB. We'll start with two entries per person, and see where that gets us. Contest will be open for at least a week, probably a few days longer. And please identify the source of your entry.
Have fun!
