Came across Jon Pertwee interviewing William Shatner on YouTube. Towards the end he mentions Steven Spielberg was interested in directing a Doctor Who movie and asks Shatner if he would be interested in playing the lead?
If it was like the two '60s films where the Doc is sort of a bumbling supporting character, then yeah. It could work.
Since it's Spielberg, I guess the companions would be kids?
Shat would be the Doctor.
Lots, generally in the penultimate episodes of RTD seasons. Among them, Patrick Moore, Paul O'Grady, Anne Widdecombe, Richard Dawkins... and in the original run, Kenneth Kendall (also in 2001).He should have somehow put Kirk flying around in the Tardis in "Ready Player One." Me I would watch it. Admit it! Everyone wants to see this movie. It's to weird of a concept to not end up being one of the most fun movies of all-time. Also it's not to late to sort of make this happen. Perhaps the new Doctor gives Shatner, playing himself once again, a ride on the Tardis. Maybe she has to save him from a monster or whatever and thus that is how it happens. Which brings up the question. How many, if any,real-life celebrities have played themselves on the show?
