Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Still hoping they do the Merchantman before the line ends. IMO, that would be more exciting than the conjectural E-F.

Not for me. The Enterprise-F is the one I've been looking forward to the most. I don't have many ships in this collection, I just pick the individual ones I want. One thing I've liked a lot about Eaglemoss was the wide variety of ships they've produced, from fan-favorites to the very obscure.

So the auction for the first USS Glenn to show up on Ebay closed out last night.
The final price: $1,155.00

You could have gone to Vegas, attended the convention and bought the model for that.

Or you could have bought a Discovery and have it customized, it can't be that hard or expensive to have the name and final digit of the registey changed.

I'm not particularly surprised at that and good on the person selling it on for that much.

Must be nice to have that much money to burn. Did this person design an app or something?

Even if I had that kind of disposable income, there's so many more things I could spend that on instead. I could catch up on the REGULAR ships I'm missing out on. Maybe take a trip, see a con in another city. The Vegas one might be fun, although I admit I'm sometimes exhausted by the crowds at the main con in my own mid-sized city.

I’m seriously considering taking the XL Enterprise A and selling it for what I can at 2nd and Charles. I’ve seen a couple of other Eaglemoss ships there.

It’s just the more I look at it the more I’m dissatisfied. Especially compared to the XL 1701 which is pretty close to perfect.

Yeah, the TOS and E are the best. The rest are rather meh.
Can‘t say I agree. The XL Voyager is a huge improvement (pun intended) over the regular sized model. The bigger size does reveal much more details and isn‘t merely a scaled up version. I‘m so happy I spent the money to get it.

The supersized NX-01 is a beautiful model as well, it‘s just that the regular version was already pretty much perfect and didn‘t leave much room for improvement. I‘d say the deflector is the only thing they could have spent more time on in both versions. But other than that I‘m pretty happy with it.

I‘ve been mulling about getting the XL-Defiant, but the pictures I‘ve seen online don‘t really convince me. Maybe if I can get it at a discount someday.

I received my Discovery Klingon Bird of Prey this week. I also received a binder and an IOU for the posters. I have to say I enjoy this model the more I see it. When I first signed up for the Discovery line, I didn't particularly care for most of the klingon ships, aside from T'Kuvma's ship. This model has certainly shifted my attitude towards the ship. I am also surprised how large it is compared to the other DSC models that have been released so far. It's ironic considering I believe it is one of the smaller ships on the show.

Next issue is the Europa, a personal favorite of mine. I can't wait to see how she looks next to the other 4 issues.

are you happy with it?

can’t shake the impression that it looks toylike from all the photos i’ve seen, but i do kinda want it...

I don’t feel that it is particularly toylike holding it. I do get that from the XL Defiant.

I do like it.I think the larger size is better for long skinny models like the Ent B, the standard size just doesn’t do it justice. With the NX 01 & 1701 being the top of the scale I’d rate this in the middle of the XLs so far. It’s definitely better than the A.

It has the window misalignment that we’ve come to except from Eaglemoss but those are on the engineering hull & not too noticeable because they’re white on the white hull. At the end of the nacelles under the registry it looks bad because It reads “UNITEDFEDERATIONOFPLANETS” with no spaces & the saucer on mine feels a little loose where it’s attached at the neck.

As far as screen accuracy, someone else might need to chime in on that. I’m never that particular about it.

So during the Starship design panel at Vegas a fan asked about the Franz Joseph tech manual designs. Ben Robinson said the rights issue with them is 'fixable' whatever that means.
