Star Trek 4 Hits A Snag

Why not skip that whole script altogether? Are there millions of fans chomping at the bit to see this story? It hardly set the world alight when it was announced. The best solution for all parties is to go with another script and pay Pine what he was promised by ditching Hemsworth.
2 things from me.
1. I feel that Kirk cleared his "Daddy Issures" by the end of Beyond. And i Don't want to see some time travel extraveganza to brig on George Kirk.Make a good villian and do another movie.
2. They already had a contract. Paramount can ask nicely to re negotiate, but Chris's are saying, nope we signed years ago, please respect that. I'm guessing Paramount Lowballed both of them, so .. no problem with them steping back.

I'm not sure that many moviegoers even remember Hemmy was in the movie. It was before his career exploded big and it's really just an extended cameo.
Money, sure WE on the board know who she is. Does the general public? Will a random MCU fan who never watches Star Trek buy a ticket to ST4 because she is on the poster? I have doubts..
That has nothing to do with ST09. It has everything to do with this MCU franchise that is the hottest property on earth right now. Paramounts wants a piece of that pie (Hamsworth) without paying what he is owed for it.
indeed. had Matt Damon been George Kirk (as he was approached for ST09 cameo) then maybe itd be abit of a big deal to now base a whole movie around him.. but Hemsworth isnt really a draw beyond Thor and Kirk meets his dead father isnt exactly Star Trek: Borg or Yesterdays Enterprise The Movie in terms of appeal (sure its based on Orci's disguarded ST3 script with Shatner/Kirk Prime but changed to Hemsworth/George Kirk becuz... Avengers had made 1.5b I guess? And now MCU totally rules the cinematic roost... But going back to the original Shat version might be a solution!)

He's never brought in big money for a film outside of the MCU though.
That doesn’t mean Paramount won’t stick him right in he center of ST4 poster, if they ever film the movie.
yeh can see the poster - Hemsworth all huge like Khan on TWOK poster or Spock on TSFS poster and little figures of Pine, Quinto and Saldana next to the Ent-A and Kelvin under attack from the Narada or Klingon BOPs
Give Pine the cash and dump Hemsworth, there are a ton of actors out there ready to play the role, sorted.

I forgot to say bearded Hemsworth - hed most likely have a beard to make him look as Thor like as possible (hair long or short makes no difference as Thor has short hair now )
Keep them both and pay both. Paramount sucks. Film the movie, lose money, merge back with CBS, fire Redstone, then sell Star Trek rights to Amazon. The whole sheebang, movie, tv and licensing.
I bet, should the movie happen, that Hemsworth ends up the villain. Kirk v Kirk, for the fate of the Kelvin universe, or something.
I'd rather see a Shatner story. Use CGI to deal with age issues. They could actually have Shatner at ANY age if they wanted with CGI, and Shatner wouldn't cost anywhere near as much as Pine, but his return would be a draw.
I think you're massively overstating the potential box office draw for the shat.
Shatner's time as Kirk has passed, sorry. Loved him as James T. Kirk, but no one is showing up to see a CGI 80 something fat guy in an action movie
