Great idea, Australis , but dangerous for fish, whales, dolphins, turtles and all sorts of marine life that might get caught in the nets. However, about a fortnight ago a floating dam project started that is supposed to catch plastic waste floating on and near to the surface of the open sea: https://www.theoceancleanup.com/
I think it could be perfectly combined with your method: the dam catches the waste and then a passing trawler can load up the waste and bring it ashore to be cleaned, sorted and melted.

I totally second that! Fortunately, I have a really good vet who never gives up as long as there's just a hint of a chance the patient might recover.


What I'd need right now is a device to jar heat and cold. When it's cold in winter one just opens a jar of stored summer heat, and in summer one always has a refreshing bit of winter at hand.
