Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 3

Hmm, I wonder why they decided not to include Legends this year? Was it just to hard to try to work all four shows into the crossover?

They made it work logistically last year, so if they wanted to I'm sure they could have done it again, but then another threat that requires twentyish heroes to deal with it would have been a bit repetitive so maybe they're trying something different. And dropping Legends makes sense because there's a lot of characters there, and it has fewer episodes than the rest of the shows, so a crossover "stealing" one of those is more noticeable.

As much as I like seeing the various team members interact who don't usually get do so, I wouldn't mind if this season it's just the big three and Batwoman.

I'm glad they aren't trying to "top" Crisis on Earth-X by going even bigger. I think it was an exceptional event and constantly trying to surpass it would just cheapen it in the long run. Better to let it stand as its own achievement and just dial it back from there, keeping later crossovers no larger than they need to be for the purposes of their own stories. (Hopefully Marvel will do the same post-Avengers 4.)

I've had the thought before that it would be better to have several smaller-scale crossovers spread out through the season. The Legends could still have team-ups with other shows' heroes, just not all at the same time.

Legends apparently won't be a part of next season's crossover with Batwoman.
That's disappointing but perhaps it just means this show can focus on it's direction and where Constantine is going to fit into the new dynamic.

I'm glad for the Batwoman development but personally wanted the Earth X event to give us more Ray and Red Tornado. Instead we just got another Captain Cold.

I'm disapointed they won't use "Legends" because it's their best or second best show right now depending on the mood when comparing it to "Black Lighting" which also won't be their I guess. If your going to go smaller then it makes sense to me then to just leave out the supporting characters and do a story focused on Batwoman,Supergirl,TheFlash,Green Arrow,BLack Lighting, and Sara Lance. To me the characters interacting with characters from the other shows like "The Avengers" movies is always the main point of these stories so it doesn't really make sense to me to leave some of them out. In fact I would scale back on the story via action and go for something that is simply more character oriented if they are afraid of toping last year's story.

Constantine says "The darkness -- it's rising." Which suggests they're finally going to pick up the "Rising Darkness" arc from his NBC series, though I'm sure their version is different from what that show's creators intended.

Just how big is the shows cast? It feels like the show must have 20 regulars at this point.

And the "Best Cosplay" award goes to...

Latest news, weirdly, is that Maisie Richardson-Sellers will be returning, not as Amaya Jiwe, but as a British woman named Charlie, somehow connected to the magical stuff this season. Well, I guess it's not the weirdest thing Legends has done, and it's a way to keep MR-S in the cast without artificially extending Amaya's story yet again. Plus she finally gets to use her gorgeous English accent full-time, which is great.

Friend of Constantine?

Friend of Constantine?

The article specifically says she's connected to the "magical portal" that's unleashed supernatural things into the world. So maybe she's some kind of alternate-reality counterpart of Amaya, though not in the established parallel-Earth doppelganger sense but something more mystical. The article also says it's unclear at first if she's a friend or foe, so maybe she's a shapeshifter and takes on a familiar face in an attempt to win the Legends' sympathies or distract them from the truth about her.

The Maisie Richardson-Sellers character change is a surprise, but a nice way to keep her around. The really was only so long that Amaya could still around without having to jump through more and more hoops to keep from changing her history.
Yeah, Gary doesn't count.
I think he's been in enough episodes at this point to count as recurring, especially if he continues to appear in more episodes next season.

Wasn't the actor upped to regular?

Should Wally be called a recurring character as well? Also the actress who does the ship's voice? I also wonder if we will see new ones emerge. I think it would be cool if their Barak Obama showed up from time to time.

Wally was credited as a mid-Season Regular for Season 3, but we know that he's stepped back from that. Reading between the lines it sounds like he'd be up for "Special Guest Star" if there was a specific plot that he liked but it doesn't sound like he's going to be appearing often enough to count as Recurring. However Agent Gary Green should probably be listed as Recurring, Gideon should be regarded as a Regular as she has at least some dialogue in each episode and is credited in the main title AFAIK.
